No, you want him next season when he'll post a .917 or some such. Then you trade him before the next season when he'll be a .902.

That game pretty much sums up the season.

Can't get a goal when you need it.

Can't make a save when you need it.

Basically in it until the end, but never really in it at all.

So frustrating.

Kadri getting absolutely SHREDDED on 960.

Rightfully so. He’s like an overpaid Renee Bourque.

.902?
.902 would have won the Flames 5 more games
Would have loved .902
.889 is no good

The worst part of Kadri's interview weren't his responses that sound like excuses (bad bounces, chippy ice)....to me it's the part where he can't recall the 3rd CHI goal where he got stripped.

As a pro, that stuff should be burned in his head even if he wasn't involved in the play. Should be thinking the game at deeper level even post game.

He does seem checked out or something.

I think Kadri rebounds next year. Contract is still too long for my liking but I think he's had enough of Sutter and its showing in his body language and play. Not excusing this at all, he's been in the league long enough to be a pro, maybe the cup win has got to his head? Either way it seems obvious to me that he's done with the coach.

Who, besides Sutter, thinks Markstrom can take this team on a playoff run

The point being he seems to bounce from good year to bad, so next year he might be good?

Which of Tre's free agent signings has turned out to be a home run. If he's not the only one making these decisions, they all need to go !!!

Markstrom was a good one until this season. Tanev was a good one? But you are totally right. His summer signings have done more damage than good.

Weegar has been pretty good.

As a whole Huberdeau was a disaster for the first half of the season but has been better of late.

Kadri started hot but is a liability now.

Making millions to play the game - you don't get the luxury of checking out. Especially with the season on the line.

I was a big fan of his prior to this year, and even until about a month ago. But stuff like this (which has not been isolated) is just inexcusable and he deserves to be called out and dragged over the coals.

Not looking for excuses, but I wonder if Ramadan has an impact on Kadri (I believe he respects it?). Playing hockey after not eating all day sounds mentally and physically challenging.

Quite the contrary. When you have guaranteed contracts, you absolutely do have the luxury to check out and that’s what we are seeing here.

Kadri doesn’t care. He just doesn’t. Personally, they need to find a way to part with him this summer somehow, because that is one hell of a toxic personality to have around youngsters. He’s no professional in my eyes. Lazy, entitled, only came to Calgary for the swan song contract. Disgusting.

This Mangiapane narrative is honestly just dead wrong.

He falls down all the time for sure, but he's likely Calgary's best play driving forward all season.

People need to look past goals and assists when dumping on players. Hockey is a bounce game. He's not getting them this year.

1st in xGF60 by a good margin

Markstrom has only had one good season out of three in Calgary. I'd give that signing a D unless Markstrom magically bounces back next year, which I have zero faith in.

Do you ever look back at post game threads where they lose and wonder if you over stepped?

Man...even I, one of the most pessimistic fans, was starting to get hope again. This is EXACTLY why I've been pessimistic, as I know how this franchise rolls. Shame on me for believing again.

It's hard to be positive about this season, and even harder about future seasons. Our success hinges on three players with absolute boat anchors for contracts making significant turnarounds. Given their age and what they've shown this year, even someone with homer glasses has to think it's very unlikely.

We have good prospects, but not great prospects (aside from Wolf maybe). I like Coronato, but the amount of excitement being shown by fans is 100% indicative of what fans have had to endure for the last 30 years of this franchise. Always middling prospects, always middling success. We get excited over "decent" prospects.

I'm happy Chucky and JG are gone. They were never taking us to the promised land. I'm not even mad about Chucky getting over the 100 point mark in Florida. Putting up points in the regular season was never his issue. Let's not forget how invisible he was in playoffs. He doesn't have another gear, just like Johnny. What I'm upset about is how we tried to patch these holes. At the time, I was excited about Huby + Weegar + Kadri...not even gonna lie. I have the benefit of hindsight as a fan though. It didn't work. And the guy that made those moves needs to be held accountable for putting us in this terrible position with some massive contracts over the next few years for guys that don't move the needle. Though Markstrom does move the needle....just the wrong way.
