Before Yoho started driving traffic to the political threads it was just people complaining about the ruling party/people in each thread.

Now it’s just people responding to Yoho and Yoho probably laughing.

In both situations there’s no real talk about anything.

When he does engage and add his own thoughts to the tweets he tends to get embarrassed and tucks his tail, so he typically posts and goes to save himself.

I've got a buddy that trolls in similar fashion, he's an engineer, moved internationally, works at a fortune 500 and is in the executive there with 200 reports.

His style infuriates some, and there is a genius to it.

I bet you’re confusing “has no ability to defend” these things with “doesn’t care to defend”. This whole thing is ridiculous to me. Why do people care so much that someone posts tweets and doesn’t discuss them. It’s not like the rest of us are having brilliant conversations in those threads and curing cancer.

Mostly because those tweets are typically from trashy sources of misinformation. If you can't defend what you post, why bother? You are just admitting it is indefensible. In which case you are a troll, and I think this board has rules about trolls. We should probably be better than accepting daily dumps of trash "news".

even though posting rules aren't technically being broken, in my opinion this board is accelerating towards a really ugly state and at some point the people in charge need to decide what kind of community they want on here. I want to be able to read stuff outside of Food and Entertainment and Tennis thread without getting annoyed, but that is getting more difficult by the day.

I don't find it that way though. Like most of the posts are on topic and I can't even imagine why people get so riled up about it. Meanwhile, what I do see is a lot of name-calling and personal attacks going back the other way. That's just plain childish and does more of a detriment than someone posting a tweet about the topic that no one agrees with, and then not wanting to argue about it.

I agree with this. The board used to be more a community in general, I think. It's just not as tight as it was "before". I'm not sure what to attribute that to, but a lot posters who were part of that have left and maybe things were too caustic for them?
