What to do with Huberdeau?

I'd be really interested in a guy like Ehlers to play with huberdeau and wonder if the Jets would part with him in a 1 for 1 damn trade... In a perfect world they covet a guy like zadorov, but obviously flames add there.

The answer is easy: you let him try and bounce back. This whole season isn’t just because he had a bad year. This is just a team where you’re either going to get career years or career lows. This year seems to be the latter.

Give him the benefit of the doubt. We have him for another 8 years.

It’s hard to believe that the onil reason that Lindholm isn’t on pace for 50 goals is Sutter’s refusal to play them together….

on broadcast tonight they said he had 1 goal in 18 games...I chuckled because I had just read this post on fixing the Flames goal scoring consistency problem

Value wise, I could see something built around ehlers and hanifin. Jets do need a top 4 D but im not sure they will want to move ehlers.

Has he actually played most of the season on RW (I don’t watch many games)? That could have a huge impact for a passer. I remember half this board freaking out about Brodie being put back on the left side by Gulitzan.

Wonder if he is out of shape? Wasn't that the problem with alot of our players when Sutter first came in? The next season players were much improved.

The player seems a decent trade value wise, but it’s hard to believe Hanifin would be open to signing an extension with the Jets, as one of the reasons the Flames might move him is his (perhaps) reluctance to sign with the flames.

Sorry, is Ehlers untouchable? He's never taken flight in Winnipeg and has pretty big injury concerns. They also don't play him a ton. He averages under 16 minutes per game. Yes big Z is unlikely and you'd have to add probably a 1st but I do think they like that kind of player so who knows. I think people would be surprised at zadorov's trade value actually.

The more likely trade would be something like Hanifin for Ehlers trade though.

Somewhat more time on RW, with Lucic and Pelletier.

I think that, like all offensive players, especially guys who have done it by creating as opposed to finished, he, needs lots of touches, because those guys need plenty of attempts to have things work out. He’s trying to make elite passes. They don’t always connect because they are tricky, and then the shooter obviously doesn’t score every time. So up the ice time, up the play attempts and the numbers get better.

He obviously hasn’t been as good as past years. But he also hasn’t been give the best chance to succeed playing with incompatible players, and off wing, with less ice time and a power play that is not working tr=though him.

Hard to believe there's a good chance the guy doesn't even hit 50 points.

It would be nice if he would do something to actually earn more ice time instead of just basing it on past performance.

I wonder how bad the relationship is in the room & with the coach really. Twice now Huberdeau has communicated displeasure of something through Walsh tweets. The negativity and vibe and now playing on his off-wing.

Unless you're the type who believes Walsh is a rogue actor. He's just going off the cuff saying things without approval of his client.

I would hope that they could show him some places where he had a chance to carry the puck to dangerous areas and shoot rather than look to pass. This team needs him to be a 40 goal scorer, and he has done it. But 103 shots thus far doesn't get it done. He's one of the few guys on this team who can get into those areas to shoot.
