Between bowing out to a tired bottom feeding Detroit team and Mr.Walsh's tweets yesterday I'm really looking forward to the show today
should be a doozy

They are such a bottom feeder that they even got more wins than the Flames now
Basically putting the team on your back and leading them to some playoff success.
Well it is true he didn't do that. That's asking a lot of a leader though, might be something you'd expect of a first ballot HHOFer. And I never thought Giordano was that.
If you haven't listened to the After Burner episode from last night I would definitely recommend you check it out.
Rob Kerr is the guest with Boomer, and my sweet baby Xenu is it great to hear him talk Flames again. What a pro. So insightful and measured. It's a real treat to hear his perspective on things going on lately.

Why don’t you fill us in? I can’t stand Boomer or Pinder and don’t want to hear their schtick

Haven't paid enough attention to give a bullet point type summary. He talks about the whole spectrum of what we've all talked about this team over the past 5 months.
Pertaining to your concern, Boomer practically gives the reigns to Kerr and lets him roll. It's almost like an interview, where Dean sets him up and lets Rob spill.

An interesting podcast where Boomer is the guest, talking about the transition from radio to podcasting. He goes through his career in the business, interesting to hear about his time in Edmonton and how different it was/is dealing with the leadership groups in Edmonton and Calgary. Further proof that E=NG.

Boomer has Conn Smythe winner Cam Ward on his show summer of 2006, and gets a call - an Oiler player called into the station and said "get that guy off the radio now" and Boomer had to cut it short with Cam because his producer told him to quit it.

I hope he's bringing back the Sarcastic Player Profile segment!

Man, Dean was the right guy at the right time for Calgary. Lucky to have him on local radio for as long as Calgary did.

It didn't sound to me that it was an Oiler player; my sense was that it was someone in the head office or owner, possibly.
I like how they both had similar run ins with the "veto culture" there
Also Ward was a local, so it was fitting to have him on the show. In most cities it wouldn't be an issue. Boomer was being nice by chalking it up to a passionate city. The truth of the matter is there are some tiny people working for the No Goods
Really, how do you run Boomer out of town in 1 season?

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing this. I've been living in the US for over 20 years, and could still pretty much give you a daily weather report on Calgary thanks to Boomer, Pinder, and Warrener (well... Buffalo in Warrner's case).
Anyway, this is a great listen if you're a fan. Some real gems about how crap Edmonton media is since they're rights holders for the Oilers.
