The difference in those pictures showing open space is pad position more so than glove, though. The hole you can see on Rittich is between the pad and post. Price has the skate a bit inside the net so the pad is flush with the post.

Yeah, the picture of Price isn't a great comparison -- in part because he has the toe of his pad on the post instead of the skate. But either way, he needed his arm/glove to overlap the space. Having the front of the glove facing out can leave a slight hole between the elbow and the post, but using the back of the glove lets you use your whole arm and glove to cover any holes.

Here is Markstrom on his blocker side:

Surely somebody on CP could come up with some simple and funny chants, and then through the number of CP members at the game could start some chants.....am I overestimating CP's numbers at a game?

Here are a site with lots of premiership ones....the key is that the best are almost inside jokes: https://www.besoccer.com/new/funnies...-chants-588626

I could see an oilers one (and there should be many) that would be "There's somethiiiiiiinnnnnnggg in the waaaattteeeerrrrr"
If we play Nashville:

Duuuuuuuuuuchene
Duuuuuuuuuuchene
LOST HIS HEAD!!

Or a riff on the Loooooooooch, Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuch (bonus for sounding like D****e)

Now that Overtime is on podcast I’m listening to last nights right now for the first time ever. OMG poor Steinberg. Some of these callers are wingnuts! I could never handle these people.

Thought I saw a replay showing the puck going in under the pad of Rittich - I could be wrong, though.

I think the crowd is too snooty to do chants which really sucks.

If it was more working class crowd, like Stamps games are, then you could talk about using chants other than Go Flames Go.

“Ricci’s ugly” chant was brilliant.

Who would fit that bill on Dallas or Nashville?

Might have something to do with people being too concerned about how they look/celebrate. Even on this forum, there are people critique how people celebrate. Like, somehow, the wave is stupid. Just enjoy that people are celebrating! It doesn't matter whether you think it's silly or wrong.

It was hard to see on the Sportsnet feed (which was focused on the overhead angle and how much time was left on the clock) but the Nashville feed had a great replay of the puck going through that tiny hole that Rittich left open:

I thought Rick Ball had a great line though: "You can't score any later than that!!"

Beyond tired of go x go chants, refs you suck, x goalie name being the go to chants.

Soccer has endless anthems and chants, usually specific to their team, and they go the entire game.

Wish we could try something new, but not enough people in the stands are "in the know" enough to catch on probably.

Thanks! I see it rode up Rittich's stick - I was wondering how Chuckie got it up with his stick angled that way.

Fabbro's stick caused the puck to ramp upward. Probably doesn't go in if Fabbro doesn't get involved in the play.

Jeannot though, what a great looking pickup by Nashville. Rookie season trying to get that 25th goal while leading the league in fights. 2022 alone he has 16 goals and 9 fights in 47 games. What I'm assuming was near no expectations and a league min contract, he has to be a huge fan favourite in Nashville.

Can't wait to see him get destroyed in the playoffs.
