This could all be avoided if they stopped naming each other with the same freaking names over and over again! Next up, we'll have the brothers Raemon, Raymon, and Ramen!
Exactly. There is no point for that comment otherwise. It was also set up by her highly compassionate scene with the girl…as if compensating for what she’s about to do.
I didn't even see compassion in the scene. The acting and music was all really foreboding and led me to believe that Alicent was about to poison the servant girl to get rid of the scandal.

aemon v. aemond always trips me up . and of course all the aegons
I was thinking that was some kind of morning after drink just in case she was pregnant
That's what Dyana thinks it is, still could have been poisoned. Also all the milk of the poppy that is being fed to Viserys could have slowly been killing him as well. Its still a mystery what's been killing him over all these years that isn't contagious.
Could it not have been both. He had some kind of leprosy, but he was also receiving treatment that didn't help him and just kept him sedated. After he rejects the medicine, he suddenly becomes totally lucid and gains the ability to walk again.
I got the impression that the high towers were purposely manipulating the Meisters so that Vyiserys never got proper treatment. Or it could even be that the Maesters are in on it. They seem to keep swapping Maesters in and out. It also seems strange that the Maesters can't make a proper diagnosis or give any actual treatment. They just seem to be caring for wounds and pain, as opposed to offering up some kind of magical treatment. They figured out a way to turn the mountain into a zombie, now the best they can do for Viserys is give him a bubble bath.
Keep in mind, the Maester who turned the Mountain into a zombie was kicked out of their order for practicing black magic. Cersei brought him in to work for her because she DGAF what the Maester order thought.
It's kind of a chicken and the egg thing with Viserys. They started treating his injuries and likely gave him the milk of the poppy for the pain. As the disease progressed, and he started losing limbs, the pain likely continued to increase and so did the drugs. Even if it started as compassion, at some point, it also makes him useless as a leader. Whether that was intentional on Hightower's part or not, it certainly worked in their favour.

As if trying to keep track of a bunch of people with the same names isn’t enough, now there’s twins where I have no idea which side each is working for
Dracarys, dammit. Or is it because “reluctance to murder is not a weakness”?
it wouldn't be within Rhaenys character to do that
