Thanks, gvitaly. Great contribution.
Question; is Zadorov this articulate or is it more of a translation thing on your part? He strikes me as very well-spoken and precise with his vocabulary.

He is very well spoken in Russian. He really strikes me like a very smart NHLer and person. In this interview he was asked about it, and why doesn't he speak more often about NHL issues. To which he responded that even after 10 years of learning English he doesn't feel comfortable enough with his vocabulary so that his thoughts are not taken out of context.

Zadorov is a type of player you sign long-tern and benefit from. Big and reasonably skilled, but scares the #### out of the opposition. Keeper, and I over pay for that quality.

I wonder if he takes a little less for a 4 year deal.
Hearing that about Sutter made me like him even more.
I: When Sutter was asked about why you're not in the line-up told the reporters that "If you play well you play. If you don't you don't.". That didn't sound like a comment by an NHL coach.
Z: 2 Stanley cups

Zadorov is a beauty. Hope he re-signs on a good deal.

Maybe. I don’t think he’s played to his salary, but the issue will be other teams. He strikes me as a guy who’s not feeling entitled though, so this may be the time to wrap up a longer contract, since he wants that badly.

In my opinion, when he compared Canada and the US he liked the US a bit better. There were several examples. He wasn’t complaining or anything, but I got the feeling he was happier with some things across the border(not hockey related).Hopefully the next couple of transcripts will explain. This is just an opinion, and perhaps i’m reading too much into things.

Well, I think most players like the US better. Weather, lifestyle in some of the bigger cities, Covid rules (seems like many players dislike them), less pressure in a lot of them too.
Another Russian interview with Zadorov. No English subtitles though.
Video is very well-made. Calgary looks fantastic in the video, hope Z feels the same way about the city.
I’d be curious to hear his thoughts about the Canada/US split. It’s probably on the minds of a lot of players so some insight into that would be interesting to read.

I like to see Tre get Zadorov and Gudbransson signed before they hit free agency. Zadorov is definitely very mobile for a big d-man and counters the stay-at-home-type from Gudbransson. They've been a great 3rd pairing for the Flames, something that was missing for a good 10-12 years.
