Spieth is still a top five name to the average sports fan. You have to remember the average sports fan only watches majors, and only Rory and Phil have more majors among active players. I mean right now CBS is doing cartwheels with Phil in the lead, couldn't ask for a better leader despite the fact he's been an also ran for the last couple years. Stars remain stars and golf needs stars for TV purposes worse than any other sport.

Live from opened with Keopka last night. No mention of Conners until after the first commercial break and his segment was far shorter.

Hadwin bogeys the last and is +4. That might cost him. Hopefully the cut line drops from +3 to +4.

Cut line will pretty much depend on the wind, if it is down +3 seems likely. If it kicks up then +5 or higher might be in play.

Well I’m doing cartwheels that Mickelson is in the lead and I can’t stand the guy. It’s going to make for a fantastic weekend. Not sure i’d call it a US media thing since the big name golfers are popular in Canada too. I mean is anyone in Canada complaining about needing more Branden Grace coverage?
