Yep, and I’m expecting nothing more than a pathetic game where Dallas manhandles the Flames to a 4-0 win where Calgary barely manages to get to 20 SOG.
This team has no resolve and ability to get tough. When they beat Vancouver years ago that was courtesy the support players. Gaudreau plays his last game as for the Flames in game 6. The core of this team just isn’t good enough.

Typical Flames 12s away from being up 3-1 then 48 hours later on the brink of elimination. I fully expect a big response in game 6 followed by a heartbreak game 7.

From what I can tell, two posters replied to you. So it seems like you are dramatically over-stating the reaction. From what I can tell your post was given the precise amount of attention it deserved - next to none.

I thought we were all fans here and can disagree without "the junk". Your post seems needlessly malicious.

Yeah but defence isn’t only on the defenders. Look at some of the GWG. Two were directly because Gaudreau is awful in the defensive zone. Lindholm not clearing the zone. Team defence is horrid when the first line is on the ice because that line is bad in their own zone.
Our defence can’t play quick enough to compensate for the Stars forecheck (...actually, for any forecheck) to be sure though. It’s an issue.

Yup many posters don’t seem to comprehend this at all and assume all GM jobs are equal and markets don’t matter. Calgary is easily a bottom 5 market in terms of desirability for NHL players. Small market city, crappy building, freezing cold Canada, tons of travel.
That is why the organization has to go get Hall if he is interested in signing here.

Guess what? They’ve also not been in a spot where they’ve been down 3-2 in a series. So after they lose on Thursday - are they then going to be experienced enough to not lose next game...sometime like 10 months from now?
|
Ward is making an excuse, he doesn't know how to do the "us against the world" We saw that in Bob Johnson,Hartley, Sutter. The coach has to make the players believe they can overcome all odds... Ward needs to sit them down make them watch the 2004 series and they will see players who went to war for each other, the coach, the city and the fans.

Powerplay Quarterback

I usually expect 1 bad game from goalie during a playoff series. I think it will be next game when the players play decent but a couple bad or unlucky goal will put the point for this season.

After an ugly first period where the Caps fell down 2-0, they storm back after the intermission scoring two goals in 2 minutes before the 6 minute mark of the second.
That's what having some pride in yourself and your team looks like.

Which is why a good team in this situation would build through the draft and not fire off picks like bottle rockets at every opportunity.
Agreed on Hall - if there’s a chance we can get him, we have to.
All this failure is made so much worse because we mortgaged the future just to build ourselves right back into a fringe playoff team with no hope. All those picks spent in trades for utterly irrelevant players when you would have been better off just spending money on bargain UFA contracts. !@#$.

I'd be ok with this but suspect they get spanked on Thursday.

No just refuting his claims which are false and overstated
He can feel anyway about the team
But the homer shot and overall hyperbole was not necessary

If this team goes out with anything but a whimper on Thursday, I'll be shocked.

Odd flex...Caps are going to lose in the first round to an underdog...likely in a short series

This forum is about 8 minutes from full blown Lord of the Flies.
Who's taking the boulder shot? Recent trends suggest TheScorpion.

I never said they were. You came back and said this persons post got what it deserved. That is not honest discord, which is fine but don't tell others to "cut the crap" then dish it out.
