LOL "note the basketball hoop", as if its some sort of luxury item. Not pictured are the hula hoops and lawn bowling sets that surely will cause some players to be late for their own team's game as they can't pull themselves away from that game of 21 in a downtown Edmonton parking lot that can't even drain properly.

But yes, please note the hoop because it takes away the eyes from the bottom of the barrell patio 'furniture" that the Oilers have dusted off from some Oilers reunion in 1997, and are trying to pretend NHLers are going to want to sit and "mingle" in some fenced in parking lot, the fence lined with ads, and a couple of portapotties for added luxury and convenience.

Expect nothing less from Edmonton.

Toronto gets golf suites as activity areas, Edmonton gets empty parking lots.with plastic chairs and even cheaper umbrellas.

And the "luxury" Delta Hotel is attached to, of course, a mall. Having to go up there' a few years back and looking at downtown hotels, rooms were $80 a night a couple years back. The "nicest" downtown hotels in Edmonton, the Westin and Hotel McDonald, are absent, though I assume the Marriott is nice, and otherwise the newest and better hotels are out in the West end if you are forced to stay in that godforsaken town.

I always thought Edmonton's motto should be, "never want more".

With that said the bare concrete and poor drainage are giving me some serious Stampede/Nashville North vibes...I wonder if they consulted on the project.

Wait so the downtown hotels in Edmonton don't have a view of the mountains? I am sure I saw somewhere that Edmonton was nestled into the foothills.
