Yeah. But if the Monahan goal was allowed, they would be all right

At least Sarich carefully chooses his words and isn't all over the map. Says Jankowski is lethargic and leaves it at that.

Francis takes 20 seconds to cut him down and then flips and calls him invaluable on the PK (which is not even close to being the case), and then says he could be on the trade block later in the year.

Honestly, the best thing about the Flames right now is the D corps. That's a really really good top six D.
They and Rittich have been locked in to start the year. The forwards are starting to find their game, and if they do, this will again be a very good team this year.

I love all the lamenting over missed trades, but I see this as a team that has as much as it needs to be a winner. Mental approach and effort are the only things that are questionable come playoff time, but all the talent is already there.

Yes, the Stone trade would have been great, but then I don't think we have the defensemen we do or the overall forward depth if you sign Stone to that contract.

Zucker has all of two points in 6 games and his team is struggling.

Kadri? Sure, and maybe he outscores Backlund this year by a little bit, but I'll take Backlund's overall game over Kadri's.

I guess what I'm saying is I like this team and the grass isn't always greener with other players. Perhaps a deadline deal will happen to give us an upgrade at a position, but I don't see the need to change anything with these guys.

Monahan has been a ghost outside of that kicked puck. He's dragging the first line down to start the season IMO.

I don't mind how things are reffed these days. But I hate that it's a different league in the Play Offs. One or the other, not both, and not night vs day.

Monahan breaks out and carries through nz. Love to see it.

I think he’s been just fine. His game isn’t noisy - it’s subtle and smart. It’s Lindy that’s been off tonight on that line.

As long as the team's first line center plays a quiet game this team is going to have issues winning playoff series.

A quiet 82 point season is fine with me.

Like most posters, I have been calling for new lines, and specifically for the 3M line to be broken up. But so far this season, the old standards have brought the best and most consistent results. The same is true for the D

top line
3M
Mangiapane - Ryan - Lucic
Bennett - Jankowski - Czarnik (prefer Dube)

Brodano (this needs to remain together)
Han-Ham
Kyl - Rasmus

(though I would still like to see:

Hanifin - Andsersson
Kulington - Hamonic

Nice save Elliott off of Lindy. Could have been game there.

I’m sure familiarity is a nice feeling and past chemistry is handy when the team is struggling.

Brodie's backhand is magical

Even on off-nights Lindholm still has the smoothest release on the team

That is a fantastic play by Brodie. On off wing, skate to stick, get around a defender and make a perfect backhand pass, all at full speed.

Flames aren't sitting back in a defensive shell, great to see.
