Who is Sam Bennett?

In the playoffs, a scoring threat, simple playmaker and possession stud. He hits and literally does it all.

Regular season Bennett doesn't have an identity. He makes too many bad plays, cant score enough to be top 6 and is a penalty generating negative in the bottom 6.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Bennett.

Edit: I want Bennett on the team but he truthfully fits in nowhere.

Bennett wouldn't clear waivers. But it also wouldn't be the end of the world if he was claimed. Dube is better and takes less penalties.

Is it too early for the LaFailing for Lafrenniere train to start loading passengers?

Honestly, Treliving should have made some moves. Although Stone/Brodie has shown to be a decent 3rd pairing. Still, could use some fresh blood of the skilled forward type. I think the Folik jankowski thing may be growing stale. There's not much happening there. I still have faith in Bennett. Whipping boy or not.

Sigh. Zucker and Kadri would have both been such great fits I think. Just a lot of bad luck on the trade front

I mean, I like Bennett a lot, and the flames aren't exactly overflowing with competent forwards, but the lucic addition really makes a lot of Bennett's qualities redundant, they are both competing for the same icetime, and frankly I think both of them on a line with Ryan isn't working.

Ideally you have lucic on the 4th line, but if he's out playing Bennett....

Bennett has shown the ability to step his game up. 5 points in 5 games as spring shows he “gets it”, but damn has he had a pretty sloppy start to the season.

Treliving has tried to acquire Zucker, Kadri and Stone in 2019. He has failed to acquire all of them. He definitely needs to actually execute on something.
