Trading Stroman would be a big mistake. Honestly - what are you trying to get in return? Someone that might be like Stroman in 4-5 years? He's only 28 and looks like he likes playing in Toronto. Rebuilds don't necessarily take half a decade anymore - the Jays could be competing again while Stroman is still a strong pitcher.

Last year everyone was bitching that we lost good opportunities to deal Stro due to his injuries and poor play/attitude. This year, everyone is bitching that he is too good to give up? I dunno folks but it is looking like the team will be just fine. Im quite sure they will get a very good haul of young players who will all peak at the same time as Vladdy and the Impalers. If not, and Stro is still ok in 3 years, do a deal to get him back or get him as a UFA.

For those wondering, Nate Pearson has started 5 games in high A so far this year.

He's 3-0, has pitched 19 innings, has 30 Ks, only two walks and 0.59 ERA. He's also apparently touched 104mph and is regularly 100mph +

I expect he'll be promoted to AA New Hampshire soon.

Please oh please baseball gods let his arm hold up.

Also Gurriels AAA line through 12 games and 52 PAs is .388 /.423 /.755 / 1.178

Still doesnt take walks though and hopefully his D is improving.

Can he throw to first base though?

I think the Jays should get rid of Travis. They have too many infielders on the team and ones who are pushing for big league jobs.

I mean besides the ones we have on the big team we have Urena, Gurriel and Biggio who are close to major league ready. And a few others up and coming.

This is why I think they should get guys like Gurriel taking reps in the corner OF. Drury just got a start there and Biggio supposedly can as well.

Yes. This way they can also fill their need to find more outfield depth and help. So putting Gurriel in the OF in AAA will see if he can provide some depth and help there for the organization.

Very excited to see when Biggio gets a call up whenever it is, and I think Urena is already a defensively MLB calibre infielder, if not so much offensively.

I’m just happy the Jays are developing some potential hitters. Their inability to develop MLB position players who can hit since Vernon Wells is pretty staggering.

Pillar was a great find, a great story, a hard worker but just not good at the plate.

It's just too bad that Alford seems to be circling the drain.

A .490 OPS and a 26 WRC+ so far in 19 AAA games this season. WOOF

A joke of an ump behind the plate tonight. So many botched calls and it’s only the 2nd. He would give Angel Hernandez a run for his money.

It's pretty staggering how every hitter on this team has serious problems with laying off bad hitting breaking balls save for Sogard, Galvis and maybe Smoak.
