That describes it perfectly for me

a lot of the time?
Not sure I would agree with that at all...in fact its the single biggest thing that has held him back IMO.

I wish I hadn’t said hater. Can I get a do-over and go with critic. It’s fair to be critical of him. Point being, he might become one of our tougher players. I remember the ducks series he was great, scrappy and tough. We need that. James Neal isn’t a fighter and harmonic shouldn’t have to fight every 8 games. Hate to say it but Benny might have to play a tough guys role. Like a Tom Wilson.

Listening to Peters' interview and the commentators' interpretations of it, its sure starting to sound like there are 3 prospects that are seriously in the running: Dube, Mangiapane and Valimaki. I don't want to read too much into the comments, but that's what it sounded like to me.

Bennett looked great under a coach that managed him well and ‘regressed’ under an awful coach.
I would love for this place to just push the pause button until halfway through this season.
Even veterans have it happen. Stajan didn’t work for Brent (another lousy coach), and Bob found a spot for him.

Nope. I'm critical of a under performing player. I would love for Bennett to put it together. He was my guy at the draft. I still enjoy his game as he plays hard and can be a complete menace on the ice. It's just his offensive game has just not been good enough. Even if he doesn't put it together as a Flame and Dube/Eat Breas pass him and he's traded I'd still hope him the best with a change of scenery.

I think it would shut people up if Bennett scored a bunch of points, since that's what is expected of a forward drafted 4th overall.
When Bennett went on his point streak last year, nearly everyone was positive about him.
Also, at this point there's no way he will draw more penalties than he takes. He'd have to get to Tkachuk's level as a pest and I just don't think that's something you can learn LOL

My guess, Dube will start the season in AHL and will get a call up during the season.

Stats line last night had Dube 10-2 in scoring chances, and 5-0 in high danger events. I didn't see all the game (took me a while and then had it on a laptop which is never the same) but that's certainly a step in the right direction.
Have to credit the kid for taking the puck to the house despite the bobble on that third period three on one, and setting up Giordano with an accurate hard pass.
Mangiapane was 8-0 in scoring chance splits, and 1-0 in high danger attempts. Not as high in the plus side as Dube, but amazingly tight on the negative side once again. He just doesn't give anything up.
I think Foo is a tier down, but he continues to roll as well. 66% CF last night 9-3 in scoring chances and 5-0 in high danger attempts. He doesn't create as much on his own, but he's certainly looked solid as a complimentary player in camp
Total ice time the trio is now ...
Dube 62 min 57.5% / 58.9% / 17-7 high danger (70.8%)
Mangiapane 56 min 64.0% / 83.7% / 13-1 high danger (92.8%)
Foo 52.5 min 68.4% / 76.3% / 13-1 high danger (92.8%)

The line-up I'd like to see next game...
Gaudreau - Monahan - Foo
Tkachuk - Backlund - Czarnik
Mangiapane - Dube - Frolik
Bennett - Jankowski - Lazar
Välimäki - Stone
Kulak - Andersson
Kylington - Prout

I know it's not the best for development to have young guys in the pressbox but IMO our best 13 best forwards are easily:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Neal
Bennett - Ryan - Frolik
Dube - Jankowski - Czarnik
Mangiapane
You could run with those 13 forwards and create competition between Bennett, Czarnik, Dube, Jankowski, Mangiapane for that ice time. 4 spots open a game for the 5 guys.
Stockton only plays 68 games. So really if you split up the 4 spots of games (328 man games) between the 5 guys that actually works out to each guy playing ~65 games per player in the season (before you even consider any injuries to the other forwards in the top 13).
Really you could keep those guys on the roster, rotate our roster a bit more to keep them fresh (I actually don't think NHL teams do a good enough job of managing for fatigue during those 3 game in 4 night stretches since they keep less effective veteran players as 13/14th forwards), and they really wouldn't be playing any less real hockey games than they would in Stockton.
Hathaway/Lazar fight it out for the 14th spot on the roster, and practice/popcorn duty.

Those 3 were terrific last night. You have to think 1 of Dube/Mangiapane make opening night. Maybe both but not sure who besides Hathaway gets bumped.
Valimaki will be a late cut with a full year in AHL then full time next season. Andersson this year.
Good problems to have and hope all 3 keep it up.
