I'll take more responsibility for it once I start getting paid for my opinion.
In the meantime, I'm allowed to say what I personally think of Brouwer's play for this hockey team, but I still have to answer to myself.
Have I asked for him to be launched into the Sun? Yes. I think even the densest of people would figure out that hyperbole. But I strictly reserve those comments to 'Professional Hockey Player Troy Brouwer' and not personal Troy Brouwer.
Treliving is right, hes still a person and I wish him nothing but the best, he just didnt fit with this team, but his contract and his play was negatively affecting the hockey team that I watch. I'm not running him over with a bus or anything.

Here is the thing, I would take Brouwer on the Flames this year at 1 million per year. But he was grossly over paid for the player that we all watched the last 150 games. Not sure if it was usage mixed with he just is not the player we thought he was or what happened

It's not just the fact they are taking a low blow at a person that just lost his job (yes I know he's still being paid) but it almost makes me embarrassed to be Calgarian.

Oh man, that is likely why Canadian markets are harder on players. I doubt this gets more than 3 paragraph's in a paper in Dallas if this was a Dallas Stars player being bought out.
You can't fault players for the contracts they sign...who wouldn't. The Flames over valued Brouwer based on him having a pretty decent playoff with the Blues. As many mention, after that injury early in the first year he struggled to get back on track. Than add in that even in the last two years the game looks to be moving towards skating and speed, and the guys like Brouwer who are slowing down, are losing their place.

Just sent a strongly worded email to the Sun, not that they'll care. Like most of you, I wanted Brouwer gone as much as anybody, but that headline is just mean-spirited and classless. That paper is an embarrassment. Always has been.

No, I understand the difference. I just find it amusing that posters are upset with the sun for saying something classless about Brouwer when many posters have been doing the same thing here if not worse for over a year.
This is still a public message board in which Troy or any of him family members could read. Anonymity shouldn't be an excuse to say hurtful things about a stranger.
