I hate not being able to trust people. This isn't a very complicated thing to keep track of, imo, no excuse not to get it right. Maybe there really is a front office management problem with the Flames.

I actually stopped at the Dome to pickup my STH gift and asked to talk to my rep. They were very friendly and even brought out a bean counter (can’t remember her exact job title). They explained that they probably put payments towards my balance during the season. Which I was unaware of. They also sent me an account balance breaking it all down and called me to ensure that I had received it. Everything is good. Just would be nice if we had access to the balance on our accounts.

Got the invite for the info sessions in June. They say you can only attend one but I plan to go to both in the evening. I received zero invites to any special events last year, the team put up a horrible product, and just pushed through an increase.

This time the are distributing tickets to get into the event, so not sure how you’ll get in both.
Also, just off the phone with my rep and he also let me know that relocation is scheduled June 11th - 15th. It will curious to see how much it has opened up, especially with the increase.

They've said before that you need to bring the printed email as your ticket, and then never checked them. I have zero doubt anyone could just walk in to the events with no trouble.

Well, today I received a phone call from Ken King himself and I have to say I'm really taken aback. Out of respect, I'm going to omit all details other than to say that fact that he would take over 20 minutes of his day to talk to a PL season ticket holder really speaks volumes about the man, and I have gained a new level of respect.
It hasn't impacted my decision, but having a candid conversation with him has completely changed my opinion on many things. I still dont think they should get any money for their private business, but I see things from their perspective and don't harbor any ill will towards them anymore
Ken King, you got a new fan today. It's hard to overstate how much things like this mean to the little guy
|
That's basically the experience I had with Ken King back in 2002, though of course over a different issue than the arena.
Unfortunately, I hit a rough patch financially and could not afford to renew that year, and by the time things were better, 2004 had happened and season tickets were unobtainable. But that experience is why I still have respect for the man, notwithstanding all the valid criticism of how he's handled the arena issue.

In the end, we lost one of our partners and are dropping down to half a season with the remaining partner. I'll be good with 11 games. According to my conversation with my rep - half season will be the same profile of premium and non-premium games as a full season. And there will be an opportunity for half of playoff games - A&C or B&D games, switching for each round. And current policy is we can even go back to full season next year apparently, but they can't guarantee that won't change in subsequent seasons. All in all, a pretty fair deal.

Have never had season tickets before but was thinking about trying to get a pair of seats. If I understand right you pay $100/per ticket to get on the waiting list. Then you have one opportunity to turn the tickets down if you don’t like the seats. If you turn the tickets down a second time then you must pay the $100/per ticket again to remain on the waiting list.
I really don’t want to be up in the press level. So what I’m wondering is would I have any chance at getting tickets lower or will all my offers for seats be in the nose bleeds? Hoping some of you that have gone through this process may know.

^^Most likely they will offer the PL and/or what is now called the Blue section, basically the higher up white seats. You never know though as it might be a better selection this year. Either way you get to relocate to what is usually much better seats for the relocation the next session after you sign up.

I got my first season tickets last year and here's my experience/understanding:
I signed up early June 2016 paying $100/per ticket to be on the 'Hot House' wait list'. A few weeks later, after the relocation event for existing STH's took place, they sent out notifications to those on the wait list. They allocate you a session based on how long you've been on the waitlist. As I signed up just a few weeks earlier I was allocated the last session. You basically get to choose seats that are left over and nobody has taken. When it's your turn to pick you get access to the on-line virtual seating map that shows in green which seats are available.
For me, the cheapest pairs left were red's in the lower bowl sections 102-105 at around $12,000 per pair. There were also some seats in the front row of the second bowl but these are some of the most expensive in the building at around $20,000 per pair. I was hoping for greens or oranges but there were none available. I may have taken press level blacks but again, there were none available to me so I declined. I spent the 2016-17 on the waitlist and took advantage of the free tickets to a couple of Flames games and some Hitmen games. In fact, the benefits of being on the wait list just about equal the $100 cost.
Skip forward to the following summer and this time I was one of the earlier sessions to pick. Again there were lots of expensive seats available but no greens or oranges. There were some blues/whites but in the high corners. I went with a pair in the press level blacks and have no regrets. I have just renewed for the 2018-19 season and hope to relocate to better seats during the STH relocation event.
I strongly suspect that if you sign up now to the Hot House wait list you'll be offered seats this summer. My guess is there will be some expensive seats available to you and probably the cheapest blacks. It seems the mid-priced seats are most in demand and you'll have to be an existing STH to get any chance at those (green, orange and whites in the lower rows/mid sections).
I believe they refund your $100/seat wait list cost if you purchase tickets before enjoying the benefits of the Hot House. If I hadn't purchased my tickets when I did, it would have been another $100/seat to be on the wait list for the 2017-18 season with another chance to pick during the summer. My understanding is that you pay the $100/seat fee for each full season you're on the waitlist.
Hope that all makes sense and good luck if you do decide to sign up to the Hot House wait list!

We just renewed. Haven't decided the plan for disbursing the tickets yet, but we may just end up trying to sell them all and see how it goes.

Renewed. Flames are on notice within the household though. We're not happy with the results or the increase. This is very likely a make or break season. Another season like the last one just will not do.

Add me to the reluctantly renewed crew, managed to find someone willing to commit to a 50% split, so that made the decision easier. But I think it'll be treating this as the "contract year" in terms on if I renew next season.

Also just renewed today. Like most others was struggling with the decision. Another year like 17-18 and we're done. If demand for tickets doesn't increase (winning team, more exciting atmosphere), then there is really not much point in being an STH IMO.

If our poll results are accurate for the community at large, would a 20% (23/114) non-renewal rate be unusually high?

Compared to previous years, yes that would be extremely high.
We renewed our game packs.... reluctantly.

I'm guessing it will be in the 90-95% renewal rate again. This poll is at about 80% and that's not taking into account all of the auto-renew people who can afford the increase and don't take part in the world of "CP Crazy"

I would guess they're down to 90% from a previous range of 95-98% or so. I got a personal call from my rep asking if I was going to renew and if I had feedback. Which is the first time that has happened.
