Many players and coaches are friends off ice -- what's your problem with it?
Again, it’s interesting. Given the context ie: The second period panel w/ Kypreos and Hrudy noting with some surprise and chagrin how Flames players were on camera laughing off Gully’s tirade. “It’s a new era,” as Elliotte then pointed out. After Hours, Bieksa beaking off on Tkachuk, Gully comes over and shakes his hand. You don’t often see that. On camera.
But “It’s a new era.” That’s the point. Nothing to get worked up about or draw US politics into geez!
Also, I’m in the fire GG camp.

Just watched the game as I was out earlier.

Was so satisfying to see us win it in regulation. Huge play by the top line and nice finish by Dougie.

The 2nd period in particular was some of the worst officiating I've seen in a long time. And that's saying something, because it's generally piss poor all the time. What a circus of inconsistent garbage by the stripes. Gaudreau getting 2 mins for getting slashed on the had by Bieksa was comical it was so inept. Just another day proving NHL officials are the worst and most consistent in all of pro sports.

Glad to see we're generally playing better defensively but I have noticed that almost all D-men seem to wind up and take shots you can just tell aren't going to get through. Can't count the number of times a d-man loads up and I think "don't shoot, it's going to hit his leg" and they do it anyway. Minor frustration with how well they're playing in general, but would be nice to see more offensive from the back end.

Otherwise super satisfying to see a nasty chippy game against the Ducks where we got the better of them. Hopefully there's more and more of that to come.

I like the tenacity of this younger line-up.

Flames haven't had a good first half at all and are one point out with games in hand on some teams. If anything I am surprised by how close they are considering people around here are talking like they traded first overall for Hamonic

For January, that was one of the best games I've seen in awhile.

The way the team is playing 5on5 and the PK they really are poised to make a run.

But man oh man as long as the PP is as aweful as it has been lately, its going to be a tough road ahead.

Its becoming more and more obvious that reffs don't call games, they manage them. The Flames will get power play opportunities in tight games with the game on the line and they need to capitalize.

Good god, just please fix the power play.

Also, remember when our third line was terrible? Those guys are beasts right now.

Flames beat the Ducks, Canucks lose and Edmonton gets destroyed. Can't hope for a better result than that

that sums it up, gonna leave on that note...pretty silly to be negative or argue with people being negative for no reason tonight

The game was a wild ride of emotions, good guys won, sports are supposed to be fun right? I had a great night by myself in the basement watching the Flames.

Nite All

Great effort though. That one felt so so good.
Quoted for truth. Caught the wave out of the corner of my eye and my heart sank. It was inevitable - getzlat makes it 2-2....

It's my (Orthodox) Christmas today, so I'll refrain from saying anything about GG.

So, I'll just say it was a good, exciting win.

Flames 3 Ducks 2

- Flames are dominant in the first period
- Sam Bennett handles himself well against Manson
- Calgary PP almost does them in in the third
- Dougie Hamilton scores with 16 seconds left for the win

When they said that they were going to have both Tkachuk and Bieksa on after hours, I thought it was going to be at the same time. I was disappointed .

Oh yeah. Haha. Nevermind then.

When the standings flashed on the screen, I must have just saw the Stars at 51pts.

Carry on. Nothing to see here.

Are we mad at the refs because they kept giving the flames power plays?
