I haven’t committed to anything, but there is a Rev Horton Heat concert at 8 at Dickens on Thursday night. Not sure if that is the kind of thing CB or anybody else would be into.

Will try not to make this a second drunkpuck.com post!

Just wanted to publicly thank BC Chris for all the great things he sent out from Kelowna. You really are something special. Looking forward to seeing you this summer. The jerseys, hoodies, hats, etc etc. Unreal.

Thank you for the wonderful beef jerky. Is it wrong to have had beef jerky for all three meals today? If that's wrong, I will stop tomorrow...or when it is all gone.

Also, Justing with the incredibly generous gift to Petr's girls. Outstanding. And thanks for the chocolates. I meant to put them out Saturday night, but I must have "forgot".

So, Aeneas, are you drinking the left over beer, or still feeling the buzz from Saturday?

After I opened it I did contemplate keeping the mesquite for myself. The only reason it wasn't all inhaled was by the time we got them/cracked them open we had already had a giant plate of food. Aeneas had enough to feed the neighbourhood. I think he could have had the same number of people show up every night this week for dinner and he'd still have leftovers on Sunday.

A few notes from the mornings pre game skate.....

I spotted Calgary CTV sports Glenn Campbell and his camera crew sitting behind us a few rows up. Went over and introduced myself and told him I had a person that he should meet. He came over and I introduced Glenn to Petr and then let Petr tell his story of where he was from and how he got here. They had a good conversation with Glenn taking great interest. I was hoping that maybe Glenn would want to do a video interview with Petr later. Sadly no such luck.

I spotted Kristen Hallett (who wouldn't) emerging from the tunnel beside the bench and started up a conversation and mentioned Petr. She came over and like with Glenn, Petr told his story and a conversation continued after that. She thought it was really cool what CP did for him and thinks were all awesome people.

Somehow I mistakenly deleted Petr's pic with Kristen but mine survived

Craig Conroy was in one of the lower boxes and we went over where Petr started conversation with Connie. Petr had talked with Connie the last time he was here and surprisingly remembered Petr from his last visit. Had a nice long chat.

I have to say that Connie is one of the most personable people you will ever meet. Always cheerful with a big smile on his face and a person who loves talking with fans.

The young lady in the picture below is Tonya Mitschke , ALUMNI RELATIONS AND FOUNDATION COORDINATOR CALGARY SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT CORPORATION. She would escort us to the lower bowl for practices and game day skates. Very personable, friendly and helpful.

Furnaceface was the one that made the original contact to get the ball rolling on this.

At the end of the morning skate we discovered what appeared to be the parents of David Rittich sitting in the stands behind us. I saw them the day previous but never made the connection that they might be David's parents. Anyway, they come down to bench to talk to David and Petr says something to them in Czech. Petr introduces himself and quickly learned that our suspicions were right and they proceeded to have a nice long conversation in Czech. Of course I was left there standing wondering what they were talking about.

In a nut shell Petr was told that David loves playing for the Flames and really believes that he can be an NHL goaltender long term. It was also his dream to play in the NHL someday.

With tomorrow being a free day, David was going to take his parents to Banff and show them around.

In the afternoon we had a few hours to spare before we went to the Flames/Oilers game so I bought him down to High River to sample some of my mothers great home cooking.

Petr thought my mother was so awesome because she is so passionate about the Flames and loved to talk about the game in general. They had some good conversations.

Too bad Petr couldn't hitch a ride with the Rittichs to Banff!

Again, there are no official plans today therefore if anyone has some free time to take Petr around I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Pics and vids to come but Petr is a super happy boy today as he got into the dressing room after practice. He got to have a talk with Ritter, watch a media scrum, and then interview Frols for his radio station. He'll be smiling forever after that.

Huge thumbs up to The Flames and especially Tonya and Candice for being incredibly accommodating.

Petr was like a kid on Christmas morning! On the drive back to Aeneas's place, Petr couldn't stop talking about the interview he did with Frolik and being in the Flames dressing room. He couldn't wait to send the pics and videos to his wife.

It's been an amazing experience driving Petr to the practices and game day skates. Have gotten to know an awesome person. You need to come out on Sunday afternoon and meet him.

This thread is awesome. Glad I wandered in. It's too bad Jagr wasn't around, but hey can't complain one bit! The Czech connection is real on the Flames!

And so cool you guys got to chat with Rittich's parents. Their just chilling there watching their son play in the best hockey league in the world, and they run into a fellow countryman.

Really cool stuff guys. All of you, in this thread. This is what CP is all about.

And did I read that correctly, a CP member who works as a courier helped to deliver some of the stuff to Calgary?? If so, that's awesome.
