Brodie's got the same problem. Love both players but there's nothing worse than seeing either of them in prime scoring position and knowing there's almost no chance of a dangerous scoring chance.

He hasn't been bad. Versteeg takes some long skates to the puck though.

Need to move the puck faster on the PP.

But there was a lot of fumbling and apparently it's cause that ice is no good.

Need to dig deep here in the 3rd.
2 points here would be huge, but even a point wouldn't be bad.

Bad time for the PP to look like pre-season. That's on the coaches. Sorry but no team goes anywhere in the playoffs without special teams firing.

I watched Brouwer about ten minutes into the period where there was a scrum for the puck along the boards and he literally took a break by standing upright and leaving one hand on his stick. If the puck popped out he would have looked ridiculous.

Taking breaks in the middle of shifts isn't acceptable at the NHL level, and watching him more carefully over the past weeks this is very prevalent in his game. Many are attributing his drop in production to a lack of skill, but I disagree, he's skilled enough to contribute in our top six, but is refusing to put in the effort. That's more concerning and frustrating than a lack of skill, imo.

Blues were the better team in that period. Flames are gonna need a huge 3rd if they want to get out of this game with at least a point.

Most of the Flames look desperately tired. Almost everybody except the 3m line needs to step it up a lot.

2nd periods have been the Flames' weakness the past few games. They got out of it not being down on the scoreboard, so I like their chances better tonight than the past two at least. There's positives to be found. They have played a lot better in their third periods so I think they'll finish strong.
