The Flames were my team since I was a kid and the NHL was my only sport and I've have had so many great memories, but the NHL on top of becoming a weak, possessive game that doesn't inspire much emotion has done something here with the Flames that a beer league hockey commissioner should be embarrassed of, let alone a billion dollar sports league.
Take it easy. The Flames are getting the short end of the stick from the officials but they still control their own destiny. They need to play better than they did in the first period end of story.

You know, I'm beginning to think it was a mistake to break the neck of an official and then blame the ref union.

The Dome might be the quietest building in the league. You'd think the team just came back from a winless road trip and playing in a meaningless exhibition game or something.

Hope we expose brouwer in the expansion draft. Ive been really quick to excuse some of his play earlier this season but its getting ridiculous. Put him on the 4th line and scratch chaisson. How is our worst forward earnijg over 4 million. Our worst defenceman earning almost 6. People wonder whats wrong with our team. We have over 10 million in dead salary.

My bad. They were 0-1 against Florida and 0-0 against the Hurricanes. So tonight's was their 2nd in two games and one period.

You can push pucks in. But you can't push pads in.

Puck only went in cause the pad was pushed.

Was a mistake by Wideman for sure but who blamed the union?

Haha The real mistake though was signing Wideman to a contract

Not much to cheer about in that period. Flames didn't score, and that horses--t goal and resulting delay seemed to take the wind out of the building.

No, it wasn't. Engellands stick is in the area but he has one hand on his stick and is pushing at Pearson when Elliott's pad is shifted. There's no way that is turning Elliott's body completely sideways.

And no way does Engelland hit Elliott's pad that hard. At best he's trying to freeze the puck.
