So, I've been watching the battle of two stellar candidates for President of the United States of America. Is Bennett in the Calgary game?

He didn't single handedly take over that game that he had 4 goals?

I've had a Bennet-Boner since I started following that draft. Thought he was a true bonafide number one pick. We're really lucky Buffalo and Edmonton went with the more mature guys with late birthdates. Florida got a stud blueliner but I'm taking Bennett.

I know his name is Lomberg but I keep picturing lumbergh from office space. Which might be something Lomberg hears frequently.

He has single handedly taken over a few games tbh. Not only vs Florida but he also had some really good nights last season. But yes - I do believe a 1st period hat-trick qualifies as taking over a game.

Not really, two of those goals were of the flukey variety. It was just one of those game where everything he intentionally touched or accidentally touched went in or towards Luongo. He had an amazing game but I certainly do not think he single handedly took it over.

with bennet, i think if he can pot some points early on, it can really help him get into a groove and some momentum to build off.

can't wait to watch his progression this season.

I was 51/49 in favour of Reinhart in that draft.

Now? I probably take Ekblad over Bennett from that draft (and as a result we use the picks instead of trading for Hamilton and draft a Kyle Connor), but that's it.

Did you not watch his games against the Sens, the Avs, or the Panthers?

The one-timer off the Hudler feed, top shelf goal off the Engelland rebound, the backhand snipe to make it 4 were all legit skilled plays. I forget the last goal but even if it was "just" a hat trick plus a flukey goal.. that is pretty dominant.

His flashes of brilliance were very producing results that night, but I don't know if he "took over" that game, where Florida was very nonchalant having their 12 game streak or whatever it was snapped.

Maybe I'm drunk but that's hilarious to me right now. Bennet-Boner.

TBH I wanted Sam Bennett on our team at the very beginning of his draft eligible season. It was a game between peterborough and kingston and he totally took over. I thought wow - I hope we tank so we can take this bennett guy 1st overall, but if we dont get the 1st pick - I would have been ok with Ritchie - who was the other stud in that game. I still cant believe we got Sam Frikin Bennett at #4 overall...

What I like most about him is his tenacity and blue collar attitude tbh. Which is why I'm so excited about the prospect of him and Tkachuk playing together for the next decade.

Yes, kind of, sort of. I don't think they intentionally know how to do that. It's almost like a DJ plugged in an ipod at his big show and walked away.

I'm nervous for McDonald... I really hope he does OK! I'm sure he is disappointed with his YSC in Penticton.
