He took the first pitch right handed like Fernandez. Then switched back to left and crushed one.

The first pitch during Gordon's at bat he stood on the right side in a tribute to Jose. He said he tried to stand just like him.

After the Marlins win the game they all huddled around the mound together. They all ended up leaving their hats on the mound. Emotional stuff.

One of the most emotional things I've watched in sports. If that doesn't move you then I don't what will.

Dee Gordon was his best friend on the team.

That was amazing to watch. Just awesome. Such a sad tragedy, but to see Gordon and the players come together like that just really hits you in the feels. No question this is something they might not get over for quite awhile, but hopefully this night helped in the grieving process for these players.

After the Red Sox clinched with the Jays loss Texeira hit a walk off grand slam and the Sox lost anyway... Weirdest division clinching moment I can remember.

so the Cardinals do a Jays imitation. Down one in the 9th get a lead off triple and can't get him home.

Mets beat the Marlins earlier, and the Giants are still tied 0-0 in the 4th... That NL wild card is going to be fun to watch this last week, but that Cards loss is really tough for them.

Cardinals fall to 34-43 at home. Only teams with a worse record at home: Braves, Twins, Diamondbacks, Athletics

Yikes... I knew the Cards sucked at home, but didn't realize they were this bad

yup.

Rockies have taken the lead (game on TSN2)

They have called the Tigers game, they win 6-3 in 5 innings.

We've got a few Giants fans on here right? I know Troutman is one... What a strange and stressful season this must have been for them.

One of the most frustrating seasons ever as a Giant's fan. At least against the Mets it's a fairly even matchup with both parks being pitcher's parks. But SF has just been frustrating this year.

I don't quite understand the second half. Very good on paper, but maybe with all the changes, not the "team" that they once were.

I bet most NL teams don't want to face them in October though.

And yet since they'll be away more often than home if they make the playoffs, it makes them an interesting threat. Giants are the same, right now they look bad but they also have MadBum who you can pencil in for two wins every series. Of course as long as the Cubs lose in utterly devastating fashion the world will keep turning.
