Munchausen's. Seriously.

Couldn't stand the punk all these years but donated anyway. Should have went with my gut.

Not a single ounce of remorse or admission that he did anything wrong. Pathetic.

This guy is just a scrounger. I used to go to Vegas to play poker at least twice per year, and I would see guys like this all the time. In Vegas they were gambling degenerates but the same sort of profile, trying to hustle a buck here or a fiver there, so that they could lay down a bet on that sure-thing basketball game. Mostly they were pretty dumb but with some social skills, and after years of that sort of lifestyle, they were pretty adept small-time grifters. The standard profile is that they are white, usually from the southern states, what we would call white trash.
I think this dude is pretty much that individual - none too bright, but socially adept. I don't think his intent is even malicious - he sees himself as a victim of unfair life circumstance, so people ought to help him. And once you fall into that pattern, it seems a lot easier to scrounge that to work at Wal-Mart for $7.50/hr... I don't even dislike these people - they can be quite entertaining at the poker table, but you just have to be aware that at some point there will be an "ask"...

Thanks for posting the email mods.

Like everyone said, it doesn't really address any of the questions we had. Basically a long email hoping no one tries to get him fired.

At this point there is nothing else to say, he likely will never answer any of the questions we have because that's the kind of guy he is.

I really hope no one tries to get him fired, we are better than that. Ian will likely get himself fired on his own, so keep your conscience clean and let it happen on its own.

I think we have wasted enough time and energy on him. It's a new year, let's move on to better things.

Don't have much to add, never donated.

Never agreed to much with his posts, I feel sorry for the CP members who donated to this d-bag.

I tend to believe some of pimking's story, but like mmf said, you can't fix stupid. He has made a lot of idiotic decisions and will probably continue to do so. Probably not the type of guy that will ever be in a financially sound position.

This. Get your frustrations out here in the next short bit, then we can all just move on with this being another chapter in the overall CP story.

He could have told us why he didn't set a limit for donations. That alone doesn't make him look good in the eyes of this community.

He created the gofundme page because someone told him too. Would he have jumped off a bridge if someone told him also? Not likely!

A person who says "flame away" or "chill out" clearly doesn't give damn what what we think!
Really the distinction I wanted to make is I think the posts that call him a con-man, and all of the people spending time digging up details about him and his woman is going too far.

From everything you guys have posted, it does look bad. I have tried to keep an open mind since I have known him a long time.

At the root level you have a guy that was in tough times that asked for help. Looking back, things probably weren't as dire as some thought. And he had additional avenues where he was looking for support. But its not like he is some well off guy that was getting totally unneeded money. And thats the portrayal many of the posts have.

Honestly though, I am not trying to defend him. This all has little impact on my life. I'm just trying to call out what I think is some lynch mob mentality. There was some pretty serious doxxing going on the other day. And that's pretty high up on the ###### behavior as well.

Yeah, tons of holes in the email, and as many of stated, it's deflection after deflection, playing the victim. Vladtheimpaler actually has an interesting hypothesis about no malicious intention, but a guy who thinks life has did him hard, and everyone naturally ought to help instead of helping himself.

Two things that stood out for me:

1. A GM of the "best Hampton Inn" in North America makes 26k a year? Wouldn't you literally make more money as a cleaning lady of the hotel?

Side note. Some investigating yeilded this:

Quote:
Three states with the highest hotel general manager salaries: New York, Florida, California

Median salary for a hotel general manager: $51,782
Source: http://www.hcareers.com/us/resourcec...5/default.aspx

2. How in the hell did Squiggs find a video of him jerking off? I laughed out loud.

It's a good lesson about internet privacy too. You don't have to be a hacker to track down lots of personal information about someone who isn't careful about protecting it.

It was a donation of after-tax dollars. There wouldnt be any tax obligation on the money because we, the donators, already paid the tax liability on it.

Part of Ian's money has been going to steroids. He signed up as PIMking13, but now goes by Krampus, as seen here: http://www.anabolicsteroidforums.com...l=1#post456087

If he's so poor that he's living in his car, why is he spending money on steroids?

Ian stated that he had no idea how a go fund me page works. On April 8, 2015 he posted at that forum stating he had one going: http://www.anabolicsteroidforums.com...l=1#post581911

A few members here have tried giving excuses on this, but this is pretty clear that he knows what they are, and how they work.

The engagement ring posted in this thread looks a little different than the one he posted on another site: http://www.anabolicsteroidforums.com/showthread.php/48868-girlfriends-christmas-presents?p=769165&viewfull=1#post769165

This is an expensive looking ring. Maybe the CP Go fund me went towards it. If you go through, you can see when the Italian, as he calls her, and her get together. Almost everything is documented in pictures. The only reason I say this, is it doesn't match up with the timeline he told us here.

Ian apparently also took a bunch of free gear, and reneged on a deal. http://www.anabolicsteroidforums.com...l=1#post791117 This one was posted by a moderator there. I won't do a quote or screen shot of most of it, as there is a lot of NSFW language in it. A key pattern seems to be showing up again:

Quote:
one of the 1st to BEG for free #### on the forum, and also the 1st to make PISS WEAK excuses
This site has a ton of NSFW pictures, language, etc. You will see genitals.

I just don't get how anyone can defend this guy, or keep an open mind. He still hasn't taken any responsibility. He's conned people out of thousands of dollars. He does the same thing on multiple forums. He plays the victim card. Even when trying to give an explanation he manages to not give any explanation, and only excuses that are neither here nor there. I'm done with him.

Yep, great post, really sums up my opinion.

One of those guys perpetually down on their luck, eeking things out.

Harmless except for those that get burned, but even then, it's never about the money, just about the fact you were burned.

Kudos to those of you who donated, anyhow. CP's assistance for its members has been mentioned but this is the first time I'd ever paid attention and noted it happening in such a way. There were some not-insignificant sums of money donated and I can openly admit to being selfish enough that I never even really considered donating (I also am weary of donating to unfamiliar folk on the web).

Although everyone who donated was effectively had for a few bucks, the frame of mind that led to those donations is a great one and this small blip on the radar will hopefully not dissuade too many people from remaining charitable in the future.

Definitely, though I don't think I agree with what was being done as doxing, doxing to me involves hacking and social engineering, Googling someone's name that they've freely posted and following the links to other publicly posted profiles and so on isn't doxing to me, it's just looking at what people have intentionally placed on the Internet for everyone to see.

The other thing people need to keep in mind is on any forum or site there's a small set of people who are highly active and you can get an impression of the community from them, but those people are usually the tip of the iceberg. While probably only a few dozen people posted to any of the threads, hundreds or even thousands read them, and what those people think or do likely won't be the same as what one would expect from the general sense one gets from the community.

I've had to borrow money, and you know what I didn't do? Broadcast it to everyone I know let alone thousands or millions of people I didn't know, because I'd have no idea what people could/would do with that information.

I've never really understood this mentality. I bet PIMKing considers this entire situation to be a smashing success and is currently trying to figure out how to pull something like this off again. How is the altruistic thing to let him get away with it? The thought of him scamming more people, while knowing that I had an opportunity to correct his behaviour, would weigh far heavier on my conscience than to make him feel the weight of his own actions. (I'm fortunate to just be a spectator to all this and will remain in the stands)

Take a look at the world we live in, scammers, sharks and a-holes are doing great out there. Sure, rotten people tend to fill their lives with rotten things and that can catch up to them, but the universe doles out no justice and karma isn't a real thing.

e: not that I'm saying getting him fired would be justice, I don't know what justice would be here.
