This has been the best half of the tournament, wide open game although Ukraine might want to not give Kroos 10 miles of space.

Credit to Ukraine, they came to play, they've had a number of really good opportunities and once again the German defence is not all its cracked up to be.
Thankfully Boateng looks to be in fine form but hes the only back there defending, everyone else is looking to attack.

Classic Germany, can't defend a set piece. Thank heavens for Neuer and Boateng. The right-side is getting dominated. Need Muller and Gotze to start playing.
Draxler on the left looks good. Would like to see more of Ozil with the ball. Kroos is a wizard. Incredibly lucky to still be ahead

Having taken Boateng in fantasy I think his clearance should be worth 10 points for degree of difficulty.

Germany is often a team that scores a lot but also lets in quite a few goals. Makes for entertaining games.
Tough on the heart though for a fan :P

The Germans got out of that half by the skin of their teeth, the wingbacks are flying way to far up and not getting back on time and neither Kroos or Khedira or holding the midfield, its hanging Boateng, Neuer and Mustafi out to dry.
This cant be the plan and, I hate to say it, but we're missing Schweinsteiger, he has that range of passing but he stays home and protects the back 4, something neither Kroos or Khedira are doing.
Kroos gets the ball and Khedira moves up, Khedira gets the ball and Kroos moves wide but neither are coming back to defend when they dont have the ball.

I'd like to see Schurrle start instead of Gotze. He has a speed element and it really opens up the field. Plus he isn't allergic to shooting

Götze wasn't very good. And yeah, Germany could use a bit more direct options.
Then again it's hard to fault a 2-0 win. Even without the Schweinsteiger goal, I think Ukraine had 0 shots on goal in the 2nd half.
