I am an admitted goalie sympathizer, mostly because I have a little more situational awareness for the position. I don't 'love' Ortio, but I definitely want to see him succeed.
If I'm right about this situation, then I don't know how the blame can be laid at the goalie.

Move em both. Long term it isn't worth re-signing Russell.
The majority of these bad goals this entire season so far have been on Russell and Widemans watch. Break em up. Trade them, do something.

Wideman might've lost the battle to Byron, but that's forgivable. Russell was the one who hesitated on the easy clear and then completely lost his man in the exchange.
