Brandon Wheat Kings have drafted Kylington in the CHL Import draft.
Last pick of the 1st round.
Could be going to play with Provorov and Pilon.

Decent place.
If he does end up going there could be interesting to see him and Provorov side by side.
Wonder if there was a bit of an understanding there as well that the Flames would send Klimchuk back for his overage season if the Wheatkings brought Kylington over.

Provorov/Kylington ... oh my. I hope he comes over!
Just glad he was picked by a WHL team. Q is a bit suspect defensively, I'd rather want a guy like Kylington in the dub where he can hone his defensive skills.

Provorov would be a great player to learn from, assuming he doesn't make the Flyers out of training camp (I think he will)
Then again the Wheat Kings couldn't do a whole lot for Eric Roy...

Wouldn't make sense, Klimchuk's ELC burning away in juniors while he needs pro experience.

McCrimmon (Brandon) seems like a good coach and after Loob's comments Brandon could be a real good fit.

I agree that AHL makes sense, but the Flames could think top line ice time on a Memorial Cup contender could be good for his development.
Flames are likely to have Poirier, Arnold, Agostino, Wolf, Reinhart, Granlund, Carroll, Smith, Elson, Hathaway, Van Brabrant, on the farm.

Klimchuk is done with the WHL. He's petty much maxed out what he can do there. Four full seasons of junior hockey is enough.
As for Kylington, awesome news. Seeing him in the WHL will be great. Lining up alongside Provorov? Fantastic.

^If he come over. Seems a lot of people think the Wheat Kings are swinging for the fences on a chance that he will play.

If Provorov goes back to the dub and Kylington comes over then they will have one hell of a D core. Add those two to Pilon and draft eligible Clague and watch out

Yeah, if he comes over. He seemd pretty receptive to what the Flames wanted for him so that's a positive.

he is better than a "good" coach, he is a brilliant hockey guy all around.
Perfect spot for a prospect to be.

Sounds like there might be a decent chance that the Flames want Kylington to play in Brandon for the coming season. Kelly McCrimmon would have talked to the Flames after the NHL draft about the chances of him coming over
From a Brandon Sun article from before the CHL import draft:
Quote:
Complicating matters for the Wheat Kings is that their success last season — a CHL-high 114 points — means they’ll pick dead-last in the 60-team draft. Last year, the Wheat Kings were in the 30th position in the draft when they unearthed a gem in Provorov, but to catch lightning in a bottle like that again — picking 30 spots later no less — will be a challenge.
"You make your calls, you talk with NHL teams, you talk with agents and you put together a list, but certainly we’re going to see a lot of the players that we’ve identified be selected by other teams prior to pick 60," McCrimmon said.
Those connections are vital in a draft where many players will be picked sight unseen by CHL clubs based on the reports of contacts.
McCrimmon worked those connections at the NHL draft on the weekend. He said the efforts have intensified in the ensuing days as contract situations clarify and NHL teams consider where they’d like their prospects to play in the coming season.
It could work in the Wheat Kings’ favour that they are expected to be a championship contender again this season, providing an excellent development opportunity for a young player.

There does seem to be a lot of talk about Provorov being 'NHL ready'. I wonder if he'll still be there.
