So, Michael Sam still wants to play in the NFL and feels he wasn't getting better in the CFL? I hate to say it Michael, but not everybody is good enough to play professional football (even if they had a good career in college football).

Couldn't agree more. It's quite said, if it wasn't for his sexual orientation and coming out, he would be a no name. Your 15 minutes of fame are over Sam, go raise awareness for gay rights but your football days are over.

Lions putting the boots to the Eskimos 15-0 with 3 minutes left in the 1st half.
BC could do the Stamps a really big favor here.

Whoops.
Quote:
“Near the conclusion of last night's Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Calgary Stampeders game in Winnipeg, an illegal procedure call had a significant impact on the game,” CFL VP of Officiating Glen Johnson said in a release. “Our review of the call has concluded it was an incorrect call. The official who made it is being disciplined in accordance with the gravity of the situation.”

I'm rarely one to harp on officials in any sport or league, but I think the CFL needs to review its officiating. Bad calls will always happen in every league, but the officiating has hurt the CFL game in recent years. I am of the belief that if the infraction does not affect the play or is borderline, always side with the no call. Let the players play.

Have to agree with you.
I don't mind when officials miss calls...things happen fast in sports.
But when you call something that didn't happen, meaning you didn't see it and just assumed it, you are being negligent in your duties on purpose. It's bush league stuff when that happens.

Tough way to lose the game. Refs had a brutal game last night. First they called a catch on a non catch to setup the Stamps for a field goal, then they called a non penalty to push the bombers out of a 1st down and into a long field goal.
Garbage.

Yes, I am mad about the result. Thanks for asking. Who cares about what calls went against Calgary before? Zero bearing on a mistake so bad th league had to come out apologize.

He's talking about calls prior to this game. I think.
If not, no call had more of an effect than the last blown one. Not even close.

A 50 yarder is still makeable. Dude does his job none of it matters. Though I agree CFL officiating is an issue

I can't believe BC lost the game today after leading the game most of the game. That Jennings is much better than Beck for sure.
Watching Toronto-Ottawa game now. Good game but Ottawa just got to stop this pass interference penalty thing. Harris is playing well and Burris been ok so far throwing long bombs.

Sure it's a coin toss field goal, but, the Bombers earned a first down. They didn't have to kick, they only had to because of a terrible mistake. They could have won the game with a touchdown for all we know.

I bet if that call doesn't happen, not only do the Bombers score a TD and win that game, but they go on a roll and win there first Grey Cup in 25 years.
Ah well. Better luck next year Bombers.

Not only that. CFL just ruined a start of a dynasty. Both Nichols and Willy would've gone into football HOF.
What will we do now?

So, considering the 'dont call the penalty' crowd, ponder the 13 men on the field call against Sask in the GC. Did the 13th man change the play at all? Not that I recall. Should it have not been called? Sask would have won and we all know sask is no good.
I'd rather have to tolerate the occasional atrocious call, the more frequent bad call and the plentiful crap ticky-tack calls. The roughing the passer personal foul against Hughes last night as an example of a bad call. QB had crossed the LOS, so was a runner, not a passer and Hughes didnt contact his head, yet it was called.

That was a perfect example of a ref looking for a call instead of just reffing the game. to me that is the problem with the CFL, the refs are constantly looking for something to call and often they are phantom penalties
