We are visiting from San Diego and was happy to make it to one day of Development camp. Never been before. If I had been paying attention I would have come over and said hello.
Look forward to your videos. Excited also that we will be able to watch Stockton play in San Diego this year. My updates won't come close to your but I will try to provide some commentary during the upcoming season.

In September when many Flames prospects in town for development camp will return for rookie camp, Mark Jankowski will not be among them.
Instead, Calgary's 2012 first round pick will be on the campus of Providence College, making his way to class with his backpack slung over his shoulder.
But he sure wanted to make that return visit.
Following the lead of Johnny Gaudreau last year, who left Boston College after three years, and his Friars teammate Jon Gillies, who turned pro this summer after three years of college, Jankowski also looked into bypassing his final year and turning pro.
Quote:
"After the season, we had a few conversations about how the year went, how I felt I progressed as the season went on, what did I want to do for next year and what they think would be best," Jankowski said.
The discussions involved Calgary GM Brad Treliving and his management team as well as Jankowski's adviser and his family.
"We had good talks and in the end, they thought it was best for me to come back for my senior year, get my degree and just try and have that full year where we've got the target on our back," Jankowski said. "I think it's going to be a good challenge for us and for me personally and I'm really looking forward to it."
Quote:
Jankowski says it's a very reassuring feeling to know that despite being drafted by Jay Feaster and the Flames old management regime, Treliving has been very upfront in making him feel valued and not forgotten.
"Mr. Treliving and his staff have been unbelievable," Jankowski said. "Last year at development camp when we had our one-on-one meetings, he just said we have a lot of faith in you. We know you might be feeling a little uneasy because there was a different staff but don't worry about that at all. We've seen you and we like you."
Quote:
Jankowski, however, has nothing but good things to say about the Flames.
"I couldn't be any happier to be in Calgary. It's a great organization and a great city and I'm glad to be here," he said as development camp got going.
As for fears about how long he's taking to develop, that was always going to be the case if you remember back to what Feaster said when he was drafted.
Everyones different. Everyone develops at their own pace," said Jankowski. "From day one, every day youre trying to get a little bit better no matter what you do. In the way you eat, how you sleep, how you train, how you practice. Every day Im just trying to get a little bit better. Tune out everything else and just worry about myself."

I am always happy to help, in this case by either giving my perspective or by taking video.
Dan and I have also interviewed 11 prospects thus far (Andersson, Kylington, Mangiapane, Klimchuk, Poirier, Kanzig, Jankowski, Culkin, Gilmour, Hickey, and Morrison) as well as Conroy and are hoping to get a few more in the next couple days like Bruce and Karnaukhov to round out the 15' draft picks.
Is there anyone that I didn't list that anyone would like me to try and track down for a few questions?

From the article it mentions that Jankowski had a 58.1% faceoff success rate this past year, that's STELLAR. The Flames need someone like him in the faceoff dot.

Ask Jon Gillies about his experience, what was it like being with the team, and/or if he had learned anything from his short tenure with the Calgary Flames when they versed Vancouver in the playoffs. Thanks and as always I'd like to personally thank you for these updates of the players and videos!,
Great work man.

Yeah...grab coach Bob or one of his assistants and ask if they will play the same game this year or if they feel they have the horses to play a possession game. Ask which rookies excite them the most.

I'm hoping to get Huska tomorrow after the scrimmage. His coaching staff has been the one running the show on ice.
I will try to get one of the Flames coaches as well. They weren't on the main level yesterday, but we did run into Hartley and Gelinas today. They were preoccupied with checking the team out so we didn't bug them much other than congratulating Hartley with the Jack Adams.

What a turnaround Eh? We have a lot of promising young kids. Like a lot. More than most teams. How great is that?
The other good thing is that the quality of the walk on players is significantly higher. In past years, there have been a few players that were completely out of place like Linden Penner, but this go around almost all of them are keeping up well with the rest of the players and a couple (Baillie and Hawkins) look like they might be worth a contract in a few days.

Anyone know if they plan on steaming scrimmage? commuting so my search capabilities are lacking.
I'll check in when I get there. If they don't, I'll have a tablet at the ready to record as much as possible. It won't be nearly as good, but something is better than nothing.
