I thought Canyon was pretty good. He just sings it, thats all you can ask for. The twang isnt my thing but he doesnt draw it out.
Just sing the anthems and get on with it.

The Flames pay peanuts for the anthem singer.
George Canyon does it because he is patriotic and a Flames fan. We are lucky to have him. What other teams have an established recording star singing the anthem?
And BTW, "pre season girl" Katie Love is also a country singer.
I am very happy that George Canyon is back. Can't wait for tonight!

The superstitious part of me says I'm glad Canyon is back. We have a good track record with him. The preseason girl, IMO dragged the anthems on. I was ready for the first TV timeout by time she was done.

I don't watch or listen to the anthem when I'm at home, and when I'm at the game I don't care who sings it. So I guess that's the last thing I have to add this discussion. It doesn't matter to me who sings it.

My sentiment exactly. He has a good singing voice. The organ makes it sound like a 90's MIDI ringtone.

Yeah, I mean, really the players dont care, they've done it hundreds of times and they're in a whole other world, they're not even paying attention most of the time.
As a fan I find its just an annoyance. I believe that anthems deserve respect but if you overplay them they lose that.
Anthems time is a great time to get a beer. And playing a Canadian team is the best, my buddy Hendog always called that 'single anthem night.'

The girl who did the anthems in the preseason had a good voice, but she treated the anthems like crap. Glad Canyon is back.
