I think that was actually a decisive factor in the town's win, UCB and Wood using that power...

Well damn....so there's three possibilities now:
1) They are both mafia scum and Matt done goofed.
2) They have a special power that is now revealed to the mafia because Matt done goofed.
3) They are IRL BFF's and this is all a big misunderstanding

Oh yeah I never thought about them having the same ability as I did in the first game

Problem is if they both confirm it, how do we know they aren't both mafia who are just using it as a tactic to ingratiate themselves with the town?
I suppose if GPMatt gets lynched and flips town/mason, that would be essentially proof positive that RatherDashing was town.

I have a few minutes to catch up.... and I agree with this post entirely. Also, we know what GPMatt's explanation will be, that they have the ability to communicate outside the game.
I'm concerned with some of the people that jumped on the vote for GPMatt, some of them look somewhat mafia to me.
My vote is going to stay put.

Probably is, yeah. Probably 50/50 at best that he didn't just misspeak.
Can't pass it up on the first day though. It's better than all the other options, that in reality are just random crap shoots.

Good thought Bizaro. It had crossed my mind as well, after doing some reading of the first mafia thread earlier on. I was kind of worried about this though, same as you:

One of the reasons I didn't want to vote until hearing from them.

When I posted that, I wasn't even really thinking of it as potentially scummy behavior. Even townies would want to deflect attention away from themselves to avoid the lynch, and GP Matt/RD seemed like a good distraction.
My main point was that, when under the hot seat, people won't look to far for someone else to blame. Remember agulati from last game?
That said, it will be impossible to be sure without lynching one of them, proving the other guilty or innocent. I still wouldn't mind waiting to see if Matt wants to give us some parting advice (something we can fully trust, if he flips town), but I'll cast my vote whenever, if you guys would like.

I still like what a squiggs or GGG flip would bring, but I will wait for GPmatts response. Time to re-read a bit.

I was hoping no one would bring up the twins ability before GP_Matt had a chance to post. Now GP_Matt can role claim twins and he have to make a decision without having to come up with the idea himself. The nice thing about if he does claim twins is that we can test it out and gain a confirmed townie out of it.
We lynch GP_Matt either way if he filps town with twin ability then we know that RD is highly likely to be town. Gaining a confirmed townie on day 1 even at the loss of a townie with a good but not great ability is still a trade I would make.

This rationale is why I decided to post it anyway, even though it does suggest a possible "way out" to GP_Matt if he is mafia. On the other hand, if he is mafia, it's pretty likely that he or one of the other mafia would have thought of that, and not having it discussed beforehand would give extra credence to it if it's a lie.
Confirmed townies have real value to the town. It gives you someone who you can trust, and makes the math easier on figuring out who is mafia. Having a couple of confirmed townies as the game winds down makes it a near certain townie win.

I'm getting waaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of myself here: If GP flips town, proving they were both town, who would you rather have still in the game? Someone that posts more than 4 times in the game.

The logic to vote for GP_Matt seems pretty sound. We might get 2 scum right off the bat. Too good not to try it.

In terms of fairness GP_Matt screwed up and raised suspicisions so he should go. Unfortunate to have someone else's mistake end your game for you without having any recourse. That said GP_Matt is probably more beneficial to the town cause as he is experienced but this game he has been pretty quiet too.
Even though it isn't the most pro town decision, in terms of basic fairness I would perfer to vote out GP over RD.

Let's give him more time than just today. We can drag this out to Wednesday at 10 if we need to.

It's been almost 9 hours since the slip up and nothing from GP_Matt.
I don't know what's the magic number to give GP_Matt a chance to respond, but 9 hours and silence is just adding to the suspicion. if he's scum, sitting around waiting for him to answer is just giving the scum more time to figure out how to deal with this.

Either way, we have 27 hours until the deadline, and already enough votes to deadline lynch.

It's extremely suspicious that he hasn't responded as he didn't seem to indicate he would be away in his last post. So I'm thinking this was a colossus mess up by mafia scum.
I think at this point he's done, so what's the harm in letting him post? If he's mafia we simply and completely ignore it after his reveal. If he's town, we get his final thoughts we know our town aligned. If his mafia friends do try to respond we also may get them in another slip up.
I'd change my vote for him but right now he's too close to the hammer.

The only harm I am seeing isn't in him posting but letting the time stack up is in the mafia's favour. I want some info from him. I don't want to give the scum time to regroup after this.
It's moot if he flips town. If he flips scum, we gave them 48 hours to damage control this by just waiting for him to say something. He flips scum, we have some proof they can talk to each other privately like the last games. Meaning they've had time to talk to each other while we just sit and wait. That's what's bothering me.
