I'm grabbing this from whatever BBC feed is live streaming, but it is way behind in the vote.

This makes me wish I was old enough to remember the 1995 Quebec referendum, this night has been so fascinating, well the entire campaign the last month or so has been fascinating to watch, and really brings context to what happened around Quebec and Canada back in 1995.

Shaw Channel 28 is BBC World but you have to pay for it as far as I know.
BBC website is probably the best.
Other sites would be
www.heraldscotland.com
www.scotsman.com

Seems unlikely to me. The mid-size ridings are pretty much all coming in the 55-45 no range, which makes for a very high hill to climb. What way were Aberdeen and Edinburgh expected to vote?

I was 16 then... first serious experience with politics. Was much more tense than tonight, as the lead changed hands with nearly every district to report. In the end though, I think the Scottish results will have more impact on the UK than the result in Quebec had on Canada.

No is building a big lead now. Hopefully the yes vote can win a council or two soon and close that gap.

At 89K difference right now (14 counts in), Glasgow would need to go nearly 60-40 Yes to make up that difference. Since that seems highly unlikely, they'll need a wins in a bunch of other places.

it was more dramatic in Quebec cause they reported every ballot box returned so the number changed continuously. Plus the OUI side led all night until the Montreal results came back last. It was a hell of a lot faster than this, they count really slow over in Scotland.
And I was 16 too
/high five

If anywhere has the ability to swing unpredictably, its Glasgow. LOTTTTTS of poor people, LOTTTTS of young people. Both YES leaning, but both less likely to vote.
They needed them to come out in droves and swing harder YES than expected.
