I was interested in the under 24 concept or whatever the age cut of is but as soon as they mixed Canada with the USA i'm out.

My problem with this is I feel like it will be all-star game quality. Maybe not to the same degree, but I just can't see anyone truly going 100% to win and risking injury and missing time with their NHL team.

I expect it to be on par with previous Canada Cups and they were great hockey. Those poo pooing it probably weren't around for those.

Yep. Believe it or not, there was excellent best-on-best hockey played before professionals were allowed to compete in the Olympics. The only legitimate concerns are the weird format (though I'm betting loads of folks will tune in to watch the 23-and-under team), and the fact the players won't be in mid-season form. But these guys are pros, and the best players in the world. It'll only take them a couple games to get dialled in.

I don't think anyone is worried that they won't be in mid-season form.

The only complaints I've heard are the stupid teams and the one venue.

It should be great hockey. There will be a lot of pride at steak.
