If Backlund doesnt block that shot, the outcome is a game that ends 2 seconds earlier.
It was an unlucky bounce off of him, but you can't point blame at a player blocking shots for a goalie out of position
Tough call but we will never know for sure. Berra was setting up there he saw the puck. He fell when he was trying to push off to where the shot redirected to nikitain. I do agree its good that backland tried but I'm a bit old old school goailie mentally of let me stop the puck.

He needs to cut down on the wandering or the rebound control to play more at the NHL level. He's been getting by on athleticism.
I agree. I think its going to come to him. I think he's just use to that bigger ice were de would have had time to wonder like that. He's had only a little sample size of the play on smaller ice. Mike Smith had problems wondering too . put he turned out pretty decent.
