Don't get me wrong, I like each of those guys (except Breen and Kanzig due to lack of speed), but they all have enough holes in their game where they will need to put some things together in order to take the next step. It is a lot better than it has been previously though.

We need to have some guys in the pro level to make it possible for the guys below to have enough time to adjust and hopefully make the next step instead of letting them crash and burn at the NHL level. Getting Smid gives us more time to address the lack of high end talent/depth that we are having problems with.

Have to be realistic. That list is not very good. Culkin, Cundari and Breen are career AHLers.

Girlfriend is a oilers fan too. Spent the last hour laughing at her and playing circus music on my laptop. She's not amused by this trade at all.

You said his stats are only telling of playing a lot. What a silly argument.

Unfortunately I have a baby crying in the room, so can only hear every 3rd word. Someone else will have to do so.

No I didn't say that at all.

I said those are stats that indicate that he is playing a lot not that they are only because he is playing a lot.

They didn't say anything about his ability to play against top level talent. I also said that it was better to have better numbers than not.

Hey, I never said I hated the trade, I just said I didn't get it. Still don't. I was just trying to back up my opinion that the Flames won the trade. But I can see where I may have sent some mixed signals so I apologize. Now I've confused myself....
