The 'whining' thing, the 'blowing up' to the media, it doesn't happen with any extra regularity than any other player in the NHL, and most of the time the guy is joking. He's easily one of the most sarcastic and humorous interviews week in and week out, and he's often terribly honest.
I mean, he hasn't talked about whipping his #### out, but it'll do.

Top 10 is a stretch at this point.

I think most would take any of these 7 over Luongo any day of the week: Quick, Lundqvist, Rask, Rinne, Price, Niemi and Anderson
He is in the middle grouping of goalies: Bobrovsky, Bernier, Schneider, Brodeur, Halak, Elliott, Howard, Crawford, Holtby, Ward, Miller, Reimer, Thomas, Lehtonen, Hiller... MAF and Varlamov may be getting back on the radar too.
Luongo slots somewhere in the middle with these guys, I think he is generally somewhere in the top 12-15...

It's because luongo is so inconsistent And blows up to the media and in his performance on the ice when pressure is on him. Everyone seems to forget how classless he was in the SCF when he whined about not getting any praise from Thomas. Canuck fans and luongo sympathizers like to use the 2010 Olympics to argue for luongo but team canada out-chanced and outshot the Americans 2 to 1 and luongo never gave team canada that game saving stop that great goalies do

I agree. That goal was not the only reason why I didn't he deserves to be in the Olympic. How can an inconsistent goalie and even lost his starting position to a backup even be considered to start on goal in the Olympics. I think he is the most overrated player in the NHL. Yes he was okay in 2010... that was 2010 and he hasn't crap about his play since. Iginla was good in 2010, doesn't mean he should also be the starting RW for Sochi team.. no! So, the nedia should just forget about the 2010 Olympics and look at what transpired in the last few seasons in the NHL. In that case, Luongo does not deserve to be even mention as a candidate. I am sure there are other goalies that are deserving. Craig Anderson should be mention because he's been spectacular with Ottawa.I don't even hear them mention Anderson's name.

He is being talked about, but for the USA. Luongo will and should be one of the three goaltenders for Canada at the Sochi games, at least based on who Team Canada has for netminding presently. Who would you prefer to be on the team instead of him? I think of the five goaltenders invited to orientation camp it'll be Luongo, Price, and Smith who make it. I personally think Cam Ward deserved a shot to be one of three, he is absolutely clutch when the pressure is on and has a Conn Smythe Trophy to prove it.
