Blue dots mean they're new or recently updated.

just open each of the apps with a blue dot once, and the dots will be gone.

It's made worse by using an Android for a week as obviously that's the opinion you are trying to convey.

Installed iOS7 on four devices (mine and wife's phones and tablets) and the first two were really slow (did them early in the day) and the last two were pretty fast.
I cannot recall the article saying this was the biggest change for iOS, and althoug I agree there are some nice changes, not sure this is revolutionary.
Little annoying things to learn the new way of doing things, or finding things, but I am sure those will be easily resolved. Definitely like the new start/swipe screen.

I disliked iOS7 at first, but after a couple days I was totally unable to go back. Fast access to settings, being able to block a call, auto-updates, the daily breakdown of what you've got going on, being able to check off reminders from notification centre.... the absence of things like these have been bugging me for a while.
I don't like the look, but as odd as it is to hear myself say it, I don't care. Things should look good, but functionality is more important. Putting a coat of paint on something is not difficult, but adding entirely new functionality is. These annoyances with colours and spacing can be fixed relatively easily.

I'm an apple fan but even I admit that comparisons like this are quantitative more for the geek crowd. Sure some apps will benefit but for the day to day operation of the phone it's not going to make much difference although the 5S apparently blazes through internet browsing.

How long did it take? 18 hours later I still have over 3000 messages in my folder and it's driving me nuts!

Upgraded. Some cool new features, but nothing ground breaking or innovative. Just feels like they've finally caught up to some things I keep hearing people say they've had in Android for ages. I'd love for them to start allowing more customizations in the realm of themes and such. Fresh coat of paint, a few new items, but still the same old underlying OS with limited options for a user to truly make the phone their own.

The ability to turn off/on wifi in the control centre is alone worth the cost of the upgrade.
Seriously, it's awesome.

You couldn't do that before? Your wifi had to be left on all the time? crazy.

No, before you had to exit an app (click home button), open settings, then click on the wifi tab, then toggle the slider, then exit the settings (click home button), then reopen the app you were in.
Now, swipe up from the bottom, press the wifi button, tap anywhere to hide the control centre.
Closing open apps is so much better now too.

How? I just find it crazy that you couldn't turn on/off wifi or bluetooth in 2 steps... I always thought you could.
Apple might make a huge comeback if they put a dedicated back button on their phones. Guaranteed win!!

How? because I am pretty sure that's not what you meant by your comment, and I am also pretty sure you knew exactly how the iOS setting worked before.

Nope. I have only used my wife's old iphone 3, 4 and 4s for a grand total of maybe 10 days tops. Never played with the wifi setting.

Will likely be upgrading to a new iphone around January and I can honestly say the only thing I am interested in is improvements in battery life. Everything else seems like extremely minor changes, but to be able to not charge my phone every day (or sometimes multiple times per day) would be awesome.
Anyone have any opinions on the 5s battery life?
