I figure this is about the most relevant spot to put this.
I read today that Caleb Bankston was killed on June 24th when he was crushed by two trains. He was Colton Cumbie's fiance.

In other news, the new cast for Survivor 29 (another Blood vs Water Season) is out...notables are the annoying Sri Lankan Twinnies from Amazing Race, and former MLB pitcher John Rocker who has made racist and homophobic statements in the past:
Quote:
For a story published in the December 27, 1999 issue of Sports Illustrated, Rocker made a number of allegations stemming from his experiences in New York City and answering a question about whether he would ever play for the New York Yankees or the New York Mets.
I'd retire first. It's the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 Train to the ballpark looking like you're riding through Beirut next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It's depressing... The biggest thing I don't like about New York are the foreigners. You can walk an entire block in Times Square and not hear anybody speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish people and everything up there. How the hell did they get in this country?
|
Quote:
In January 2013, Rocker wrote in the conservative website WorldNetDaily that the Holocaust could have been prevented if there weren't gun control laws in Germany at the time:
Absolute certainties are a rare thing in this life, but one I think can be collectively agreed upon is the undeniable fact that the Holocaust would have never taken place had the Jewish citizenry of Hitler's Germany had the right to bear arms and defended themselves with those arms.

He sounds like Brad Culpepper, but worse.

Hi schtick on twitter isn't surprising at all. Almost every time someone gets under his skin on twitter he comes back with something about having sex with their mother, them being gay, everything in their life sucks because they're a loser, or that he is so famous he can go golfing during the day. His age is higher than his IQ.

Yeah, heard that a while ago on Rob Cesternino's podcast. Sad, he seemed like a good dude.

It's going to be time to start the new pool soon. Season 29 starts on September 24th. Maybe I'll take a few minutes this afternoon and get one up and running.
