Byron and Knight on breakaways in OT but neither could score.

OT solves nothing. We go to the Shootout.

Nor for a while would be my guess. Which goalie would the Flames sent down? Ramo has let in a lot of goals but he hasn't played poorly and Hartley likes MacDonald a lot.

Probably have to wait until around the 20 game mark to see how the goaltending is playing out.

If anyone is bored or wants to fit in a little Heat hockey in between football today, they play at 4:00 MT today (3:00 PST).

It'll be interesting to see if Ward starts Brossoit or if he gives Berra his 3rd straight start on this road trip.

I'm curious to see what version of the team shows up. 3rd game in 3 nights, 6 hour overnight bus ride getting into Texas about 4am and a 5pm (local) start. That could be a pretty wrecked team.

Looks like the Heat will be without Breen and Horak as they have been called up to the Flames. Smith and Jones sent down, although not sure they'll make it in time for the game.

Doubt it. Both found out about an hour ago, it's 2 from LA to Dallas and another 2 to Cedar Park. No way they could make it on time. Game starts in 90 minutes.

They could fly to Austin instead could they not? Cedar Park looks to be a stones throw from there.

I suppose as it's US to US flight. They wouldn't need an international airport. (Or maybe Austin is. I am not familiar with travel in the Southern US)

Astle reported that neither would be in the lineup though.

Haha. Good ol' Ward. He had a good analogy just now. He said today's game against Texas is the "measuring stick." They're going to "open the hood, pull out the dip stick and check out how much oil they'll really have" after their third game in three nights.

As a media member, I gotta say it's a real treat to have Ward and Hartley to quote because they make our lives so much easier.

Brossoit got his first pro start this afternoon. It's 2-1 Heat nearing the end of the first period.

Goal scorers are Wotherspoon and Nemisz.

Didn't Brossoit get a start in Alaska?
