Figured dude was plotting it a few weeks ago, got the clock set up, didn't "spring forward" with the clock and thus it didn't blow up closer to the actual time.
That's just how my mind works on these things.

More than anything this is so sad for those who've lost loved ones. Especially the kid who died and the many who've been injured. It's amazing how anyone would think it's justifiable to inflict damage on people who have nothing to do with a war. Sad really.

That was actually my first thought when I heard the news.

The whole DST mix up with these bombers has happened before. Just google it and there are several incidents that were less severe because of the DST confusion.

But what 'actual time'? Still not following.
Are you saying an hour before would have been more disastrous? More people near the finish line? Or did it finish an hour before?
I would wager, and I feel awful thinking about it this way, but you wouldn't want to detonate it as the first few crossed the line, there would be bigger crowds near the middle of the pack.
Ultimately no, I don't think whomever was a few weeks late with DST...

Really?
K, but even if that is true, it still doesn't really explain what MRC meant.

That's exactly it, an hour before was when the lion's share of people crossed instead of the remaining stragglers - everyone's there at the finish to see who the winners are in the different divisions.

In case you wanted to view the other pictures, there is now a warning over the image and you have to click on it to view. You can't casually see it.

Ok, wasn't trying to be difficult, was just really confused by your original comment, a few more details would have helped me.
So it happened near the end of the event? That I hadn't heard yet. I was unaware of exactly when in relation to the race it had happened.

In a normal marathon, 4 hours would probably be the time that would have the highest concentration of finishers, but the Boston Marathon has relatively difficult qualifying standards, so about 3/4 of the people had already finished. They do allow some slower runners to enter if they raise money for charity, which is why there were still a lot of runners in the area when the bombs went off.

A Saudi national with a leg wound was under guard at a Boston hospital in connection with the bombings at the Boston Marathon, but investigators cannot say he is involved at this time and he is not in custody, a law enforcement official said Monday evening.
Doesnt mean much to be honest, but thats the meat of it from CNN.

But there are many others within the running industry who worried a day like Monday could happen. A longtime race official I know who has worked five world-class marathons (Boston, New York, London, Berlin and Chicago), told me this had been many organizers’ fear for years.
“The one opening in the security planning for everybody were the fans; there is no way to screen your fans,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “You can screen your runners, volunteers, media and race officials — you can make them all produce proof that they are who they say they are — but if the arena of competition is a city’s streets, how do you possibly screen every person walking up to the race? You have to buy a ticket to get to the finish line area at many big races, but unfortunately anyone with money could procure one.”
