Just call it the Olympic Corral and maybe that will be enough name cachet for the Davis Cup big wigs.

If they don't need to have the surface in there much earlier (the Flames play Wed), and the Roughnecks could be bumped, the Saddledome is free from Thursday until Tuesday that weekend.

Yeah, Toronto/Montreal is probably the better bet...but I'd likley go if it was in Calgary and I think a lot of casual fans would as well.

Oh, I'd definitely go if it was Calgary. One of our advantages is that I think Tennis Canada would prefer a smaller venue where they can put the crowd right on top of the players. That leaves out facilities like the Saddledome and the ACC, but the Corral, Ricoh, and in this case, Thunderbird, are good venues.

Yeesh... back to back double faults. C'mon Milos!

The venue doesn't really matter for World Group standards. The only rules are for the speed of the court. They've played everywhere from an Airport hangar to a beach. It's all up to the hosts.

Belgium just played on some indoor clay that Djokovic called dog ####.

And a break!

Garcia-Lopez really needs to figure out how to hit a passing winner, or he's in deep trouble.

His unforced errors can get real annoying.

As a casual tennis fan I can understand why someone with not a lot of interest wouldn't have much desire to go to this event. With country play not really a big part of Tennis overall and Canada being so bad at it for so long I would think most sports fan (let alone Joe Schmoe) would have little interest to start with. Add in the fact that the big countries don't seem to care about the tournament as well and it seems like a nothing sort of deal to most people (I would assume.)

If not for the hardcore Tennis fans on here and my being pissed off at it dominating Sportsnet TV yesterday I likely wouldn't have known it was on.

If you have Nadal or some of the other big name Spanish players here maybe you have something to build off of but selling people that nobody has heard to a competition few have heard of is going to be tough even if Canada looks like they will win this round.

Garcia-Lopez is in huge trouble now. He's got no answer for Raonic at all.

Meanwhile in Jacksonville, Isner finds himself in a 5th set with no tiebreaker! hmmm could take awhile.

Amazing that the Americans are still battling. Won the first 2 singles matches on Friday against Brazil. Then the Bryan brothers lost yesterday in a huge upset and now this.

If Isner loses, it comes down to Sam Querry, ick.

Is it best of 5 in this match? Does he need to win 3?

Yes, all matches are best of five, unless one nation has already won the tie. If Raonic wins, Dancevic's match will be best of three sets.

I'd hate to be the small country who draws Spain in the World Group promotional playoffs in September. Could be Australia, Japan, Great Britain....

wowwowwow

Bellucci (BRA) def. Isner (USA) 2-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3
The tie is even 2-2. Remarkable.

The 5th match will be Sam Querrey vs. Thiago Alves. Come on BRAZIL!!!!!!!

Since the winner here gets my Serbia, I'd love to see Brazil win, however US will go through. Still, Nole 2 points + Tipsarevic can beat one of Isner/Querry.

Should Canada go through to the semi, who could they meet? I have no clue who is on which side of the draw.

Would love to see my country vs my other country.

The winner of the Italy - Spain/Canada QF would play the winner of the Serbia QF.

And there's the third set break.

Does Garcia-Lopez try to fight back, or does he just fold the tent?
