Redford's imperial attitude was the beginning of the end for the PC's. But is was Prentice who pushed them over the edge with the highly distasteful and too cute by half "merger" attempt complete with cringe-worthy press conference, and perhaps the worst timed election call, ever (surely some smart people told him these were terrible ideas?!).
Now were are stuck with Notley and her crew of underachievers. All of it is highly depressing.
They should just merge with the Alberta Party and keep the Alberta Party name.
At this point, that's kind of like proposing the NDP merge with the Alberta Greens and keep the latter's name. Greg Clark may be a good guy individually, but he's leading a zombie party. Failing to run in the by-election because of a lack of money only made the party appear less viable.
