Pretty surprised the Falcons went WR when they have a gaping hole at DT. Julio, Sanu, and Ridley is a frightening trio though.

would have prefered Justin Reid. Edmunds seems like a reach.

I don't feel so bad about the Raiders pick after seeing the Seahawks and Steelers reach big time.

Marken Michels brother to the Pats.

Lamar Jackson must be wondering where the hell he is going now.

LSU completely exposed that Lamar was trash when he faced a good defense. Clemson 2017 tape isnt good either. Good, god what a horrible pick.

Have to agree this was a win for the Packers tonight.

After trading back up with the Seahawks, the Packers essentially traded down from 14 to 18 while sending their third- and sixth-round picks to get a fifth-round pick and a 2019 first-rounder from the Saints. That's a victory for new Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst even before considering that they addressed a perennial need by drafting cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Can't really be worse than Flacco has been with that anchor of a contract.

Interesting that all 4 of the QB's went top 10 when there was serious discussion about how many of them might not even go in the first round.

I am pleased that the Cowboys selected Leighton Vander Esch ILB– Boise State University. He is a big man, and will have some time to learn with Sean Lee. Defense is a big need for this team.

My guess is that today is a WR day for a lot of teams. I can imagine 4 or 5 WRs will go in the second round.
I could see the cowboys targeting DJ Chark or Courtland Sutton. I would not be surprised to see them move up for their guy. Who ever that is.

Still cant figure out what the Seahawks are doing. Lost key players on defense, have a great QB that is running for his life every play....pick the second or 3rd best RB still available.

Im not one to question Pete Carroll a whole lot as his record speaks for itself, but an its hard to see a direction with that squad right now.

Continue to be impressed with Gutey. Time will tell is he is right or not but for a first year GM i've been impressed that he is willing to look at all avenues to improve his team. Trade up, down, trade players, FA, offer sheets you name it. Such a contrast from Thompson.

I think they'll be moving up at some point today too.

Agreed.

11 more picks over the next 2 days, but no 3rd....though he has the 1st pick of the 4th rd. Find a LB or 2 along with another DB.

Just found this as a matter of fact...lol

Quote:
“You never can predict it, but I think the way that our board looks now, I would assume we’d move around a little bit,” Gutekunst said after Thursday’s first round. “We have a lot of picks, and there’s areas of the board that we feel really good about, so I would assume that we would.”
Another thing Im wondering if he is looking at is Dez Bryant. Bryant will not be getting the $$ he wants long term, so he is looking for a 1 year show me deal. Im OK with seeing what AR and a motivated Dez could do together.

Oh and really hoping they somehow snag Ronald Jones out of USC today...he is a dual threat out of the backfield and something woefully missing from the Pack recently because Ty Montgomery keeps getting injured.

Rumor mill...

The 49ers and Patriots are discussing a possible trade that would send offensive tackle Trent Brown to New England, according to a report Friday morning from Pro Football Talk.
Brown (6-8, 355) has been a starter at right tackle in San Francisco for the past two seasons, but his long-term status with the team entered into serious question Thursday night with the 49ers' selection of Notre Dame offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Monster. And it is a big need for the Pats...so makes some sense.
