An executive who doesn't have the spine to tell their boss that they are quitting probably isn't very good in the first place.

Id like to say I feel sorry for the Lakers. Nah...I hope they wallow in the darkness for years..with Lebron.

Amazing Lebron Ego James seems to have drama everywhere he goes. That's not to say he got rid of him (this time), but moreso how he interferes too much and wants immediate returns everywhere he goes. I'm sure to anyone it's an annoyance when you can't do things the right way. Everything has to revolve around James. I read today that the young guys were annoyed at him for abandoning the team after his injury this year, and beyond that began to distrust him after he began pushing for Anthony Davis (at the cost of the young guys). The guy is just poison, but when it comes to winning at any cost, teams will do anything.
As for Magic, it was a bizarre hire to begin with. Didn't seem like that bright a guy, but more playing to the legendary status as a player.

Lakers are a tire fire, should’ve just stuck with their rebuild. I think there’s a solid chance they strike out on free agents. I’m a big lebron fan but he’s done himself no favours with the ways he’s handled teammates over the last few years. I doubt they will be able to land Klay and I think AD to the Celtics is a formality at this point. We shall see

It would appear Magic's only real "job" as President of Basketball Ops was to help recruit LeBron to LA. How Jeanie Buss expected a guy who kinda co-owns the Dodgers and has about a dozen other businesses on the go that are very successful to fully commit himself to the job, I don't know. It's amazing how the Lakers and Clippers have flipped roles, the Clippers now very well run and when they probably get Kawhi this summer and maybe another guy they'll be set to actually compete for a while. Lakers now more like the Clippers, bad front office and poor ownership.

And yet Lakers tickets are something like 3 or 4 times more than Clippers tickets despite the two teams playing in the same arena. Amazing.

I was just looking at the schedule earlier today to see all the matchups tonight, and on ESPN they have a link of "Tickets available from" on StubHub. Everyone tonight had tickets for as low as like $15 except....the Knicks, who had a lowest of $79. And of course they've been garbage for 20 years. People pay for "prestige" I guess.

Portland dressed six guys, no starters, clearly attempting to lose, and yet they rallied from 25 down in the second half to win. Then Denver rallies from down 11 in the final four minutes to win, and those two results send Houston down to the four seed. So your playoff matchups are
Warriors vs. Clippers
Nuggets vs. Spurs
Blazers vs. Thunder
Rockets vs. Jazz
Bucks vs. Pistons
Raptors vs. Magic
76ers vs. Nets
Celtics vs. Pacers
Raptors-Magic might actually end up on ESPN 8: The Ocho with all games at noon EDT.

OG Anunoby has been ruled out indefinitely after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
The Raptors' rotation takes a hit with this news, as Anunoby averaged 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game. With both he and Patrick McCaw (thumb) out of the lineup, more minutes will be available for Norman Powell in the second unit. In his last ten games, Powell averaged 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in just under 20 minutes per game.
That's a hit to the D. What's the recovery time?

I believe in the Jays.

Man, that's brutal. We don't really have the depth to replace him very well.

It's going to be about 2-4 weeks based on similar operations, so probably he misses the first round. Fortunately McCaw should be back midway through the series, but yeah, it's going to be a heavier dose of Powell. Also they can run a bit more of Serge at PF beside Gasol, rather than swapping them.
Magic have pretty good size so our lack of legit PFs could be an issue.

The refs make it so hard to watch a whole game. The game management and clear biases ruin a great game.

I'm just glad this team gave us no reason to believe anything could actually happen this year. Same old, same old.

2018-19 NBA and Raptors thread
Oh look, playoff Lowry is back. Raptors are screwed if he can’t shoot. If his shot isn’t falling he should be distributing so much better than he is. Just getting fathered by Augustine, raps lucky the game is under 10. Feed Siakam more and keep Powell off the court, man does he suck

I honestly thought Orlando would get swept. Lowry's gotta be better. Green as well, but I'm more confident in him turning it around compared to Lowry. Lowry is so jittery in the playoffs but wants to be the man. Just a bad combo that leads to selfish plays.

Better offense this half, more ball movement.
