Sorry didn't realize I somehow waded into a private conversation as opposed to a community forum.
Imagine being such an argumentative dick that you manage to bring Diss and I to be on the same side of something.

I wonder if those that post with personal vendettas are aware that we can all see they are posting with personal vendettas?

Meh, it was pretty obvious but glad I could bring you two together again as a side effect. Enjoy your companionship.

Yeah never mind.
Don't want to wade into one of those chaotic conversations with one of the unnamed.
Never should have brought it up.

I'm way late to the conversations going on but tfc you need to lighten up and not take things so seriously. Everyone here has a right to an opinion

I have said all along I think it would be better if Iginla was chosen before we pick. I have said I like other players better for a fit here in this draft. I made my mock draft based on where I think the players will be picked. I mean I can do it the other way if you like.
1-8? Who cares. 9. Macklin Celebrini.
As for my realistic hope for #9 I have been pretty vocal I want Parekh.
1. Parekh
2. Buium
3. Dickinson
4. Catton
5. Lindstrom
There is 5 guys right there I would take ahead of Iginla personally.

I would consider
1. Parekh
2. Buium
3. Dickinson
to be toss-ups alongside Iggy... as in if all four were available, I would be equally happy with any of them (although admittedly more excited about Iggy or Parekh).

Uh oh, Bukala and Cosentino inciting panic in the Flames fanbase on Flames Talk that Iginla won't be available when the Flames pick at 9. Bukala says definitively Iginla goes top 5 and Cosentino insists on 6-8. Guess they read Eric Francis's piece.

I said top-5 a few days ago, but no one panicked.

Great, Mackenzie, Wheeler, and Pronman all have him 10 and up. Who cares? I thought Scooter was Eric Francis on here? What are you, his cousin? None of those guys had a piece ready to go to print the minute the draft was over to target the Flames market. Here, I am sorry I took a poke at your fav journalist ok? Can we move on?

If you wanted to move on you wouldn't have written all of that.
It was you that said it's inciting panic, and not the actual fact that Iginla has risen in rankings outside of Flames fans. My points have zero to do with supporting Francis, and why would that be the objective anyways? You're just all over the place now. Back to the drawing board.

It seems like the odds should be infinitesimal for the order to remain the same, no?
I'm no math guru or anything, just seems suspicious to me.

Would it just be the odds of Sharks winning the first pick x Chicago winning second? SJ had 185 combinations, Chicago had 135. 1001 total combinations but one combo (11,12,13,14) results in a redraw.
So 1st overall SJ = 0.185
x
Chicago 2nd = 135/(1000 - 185 SJ combos) = 0.166
So odds are 0.185 x 0.166 = 3% chance that the order stayed the way it was
Someone check me please

Statistically, that outcome would have to happen eventually. It is technically the most likely specific possibility, since San Jose and Chicago respectively had the highest odds of winning the draws. The most likely team to win won the first draw, and the second-most likely team to win got the second draw (after the first team won two more times).
Meanwhile, the draft order has changed pretty much every year there's been more than one lottery. Like I said... this was bound to happen eventually.
