He's a big anti covid vax guy. I also give it a 0.01% chance that you knew he was involved early in mrna papers yet not known he was against the vaccines.
Yeah I didn't mention it in my post, but I did know he was against the vaccines.
He's okay, I enjoy him when he has a guest I like, his shows with Neil Degrasse Tyson are really good. The Chris Hadfield episode stands out too. And always fun when he has a comedian that I like on.
But no way could I watch/listen when it's just him and another meathead UFC buddy, or some random guest I don't know. Just intolerable, I can't stand people that think they have the answer to everything. Which is another reason I love when someone like Bill Burr is on and will call him out on his bull####.
He also tries really hard to make people like him when they're on his show, so if he's on with someone you like, odds are you'll like the show. If he's on with someone even dumber than him, it's an absolute trainwreck
All in all I don't mind him, but I also just don't take medical or political advice from Comedians
I really enjoy his health and fitness related conversations, his takes on recreational drugs and other conversations with guests like Megan Phelps-Roper or Edward Snowden. Honestly his content is kind of all over the place, and while I don't watch/listen to all of his shows and probably don't agree with him on everything but I definitely find a lot of it interesting.
That's exactly it. I actually liked Rogan's podcasts a few years ago because as you said he proclaimed himself as the dumb guy in the room and had experts on in areas of interest for him. And if that area of interest also interested you, it was the perfect episode.
He played the audience member who got to ask the questions on your behalf like a laymen. Then everything went to his head and he slowly started playing the expert himself, except his expertise was bat**** crazy and wrong most of the time.
And that's where the podcast is at now. He's no longer asking questions, he's just having people on to reaffirm his crazy beliefs and if they don't play along he gets angsty and rude. It's so awkward.

Republicans and Democrats divided over Jan. 6 insurrection and Trump’s culpability, Post-UMD poll finds:

Partisan divisions related both to the Jan. 6 assault and the 2020 presidential election color nearly every issue raised in the survey, from how much violence occurred at the Capitol that day to the severity of the sentences handed down to convicted protesters to whether President Biden was legitimately elected. Only on a question about injured law enforcement officers is there broad bipartisan agreement.

After listening to him speak with Dr Sanjay Gupta, I wa a pretty much over it. After everything Gupta said it was “yeah but why does a healthy 18-30 year old male need the vaccine?” Like, can you be more obvious about catering specifically to the demographic listening?

that interview was embarrassing for both of them. Gupta had to own CNN's abandonment of even pretending to be journalists, and Rogan was pandering to his audience.

So AOC parties it up on Florida over the weekend. Story or non-story? (Since we are talking about media bias)
Depends. Are we talking about the 'packed bar' that I read about from some right wing sites that was outside that didn't look all that packed? Was she following rules? Doesn't she have family in Florida?
Rogan always was what Rogan was, a dumb guy sounding dumb, asking dumb questions to people who could be interesting if interviewed by anyone with enough curiosity to learn a little bit before the interview so that they could ask some good questions, learning the most basic facts an expert could possibly deliver to him and offering only a reaction of profundity in return, leading his also uncurious audience to assume they were hearing something profound when it was in-fact basic.
What has happened to him, is that the lack of curiosity allowed him to accept phony experts and their willingness to sound profound since it was more surprising than the basic facts real experts tried to communicate to him in vain.
He is a literal epitome for the uneducated rightwing of the American political spectrum, also his episodes are just too long for something that offers relatively nothing.

Was something done that was illegal? Was something done that was morally or ethically wrong? If the answer is no, then it's a "nothing burger", to use the parlance of the particular media trying to create a story.
