Pretty wild isn’t it, and it’s not like the starting pitching has been so terrible that they’ve been in worse spots. Baseball can be a very weird sport.

It's crazy for sure.

Injuries played a big part in it.

Swanson and Romano both started the season on the IL, neither ever fully found their groove after coming back.

Green has been on the IL
Yimi is on the IL now
Mayza FB velocity was down 3-4 MPH right out of the gate, they rode him anyways until he died.

Not many bullpens would survive the demise of 5 high leverage guys.

Haha of course it's the 9 hitters first homerun in 2 years.

That'll probably be it for this one.

Damn they really need Bo to do something. That was a hanger in a 3-1 count. That ball needs to be obliterated.

There wasn't a push but I could see how they could think that. He was simply off-balance and Vlad stood his ground with his foot keeping him off-balance.

Looks like Babe has been figured out, he's been slipping for a while now.

Hopefully he finds an adjustment, but he could still be a better version of Biggio and a solid bench player.

Now we wait to see if Horwitz is for real or just a flash in the pan. Looks good so far though.

The Toronto Star has a series about the recent failures of the sports franchises of late. Today they had one about the Jays. Some interesting tidbits about AA and that the Jays ownership eventually gave in to letting him become the baseball guy and Shapiro taking the business side; and also a tidbit that AA was going to make a run for Votta back in 2015 if he was still around. It's behind a paywall but a really good read.
