Has Skinner been that good of late though. He has around a 3.25 GAA and .898 save percent since Nov 1. His numbers are trending down quickly. Could be the terrible d and forwards who do not back check though.

His last 4 games have been very poor. For a goalie without a meaningful track record, that is not good.
The goaltending story in Edmonton is shifting pretty fast...
We've signed a new starter and finally brought stability to the position.
To...
We have a new starter, he's just not the guy we paid all the money to.
To...
Both goalies from last year were better than either goalie we have this year.
We're not quite there yet with Skinner, but the fact that he's in this position to save that team from disaster at this stage in his career is probably not ideal.
they're in the business of celebrating the individual achievements of this extraordinary player they saddled with equally extraordinarily poor rosters who will ditch them without a second thought in 3 years
I meant I’ve never predicted them to go to the finals for a realllly long time I should have said.
Wait what? You've only been a member here since may 2021 . You already predicted a final appearance since then ? How is that not a long time ? You made this prediction yesterday ?!

Their elite power play for starters. An ability to raise their game when needed. A confidence holland will improve the team with a trade or two, even if it’s not an optimal trade contract wise, but one that will improve the team this year regardless. A young goalie who’s playing well, and a backup who can turn it around and get hot. As stated their D concerns me as it always does, but we fly by the offence and outscore a lot of our defensive mistakes. I think they tighten up as the year goes though. Kane comes back, hopefully he will be somewhat back to form. A good coach, which you probably don’t agree with, but the players respect him and his game plan. And mostly the Connor Mcdavid factor which I think you guys way underplay. Add a Draisaitl Nuge and Hyman, I like our chances.
There is a better chance than not, come playoff time the Oilers aren’t even at the dance.
The problem is McDavid and Leon. They clearly are frustrated and it seems to always be at the refs or teammates. As long as they pile up points it’s not on them.
Derek Ryan calling out McDavid and Draisaitl directly there. Everyone knows he isn't allowed to say their names, and everyone knows who he is referring to.

It was a “gamble” to give him Makar/Josi/Fox/McAvoy money? Even $7.0 would have been a huge gamble. No one anywhere outside of Lowe and Holland’s leather lounge thought Nurse had any type of chance performing up to $9.25. If he improves his peak is probably $6.5. He was only given $9.25 so his name would be included in with those other 4 because Edmonton incessantly tries too hard to feel included.
Nurse in the last 2.5 seasons is 156th in xGA60 in a group of 198 that have played 1200 minutes.
