Same here. We used to have fantastic arguments back in 2014 about Nick Ritchie. It was never personal, just arguing our own opinions. Everyone has their own perspective watching the same things, and has their own slant. Nobody has all the answers when it comes any topic that is not tangible in a mathematic manner. It's all fungible, and it all depends on a wide variety of factors. Arguing about those things is what this and any similar thread should be all about.

Clicked back 2 pages hoping to find rumours. Junior high Internet fight instead. Nothing like leaving work to find it waiting for me on here.

Just wondering, are you a Flames first fan or Jets?

Ha ha. you fool, there are no legitimate rumours in this thread and even if there were it'd be so buried in crap you'd never find it. it's a trap.

Obviously starts with our pick #6...

I would say 2016 6th OA plus Sam Bennett. /ducks

I hope you are joking. I would rather have Bennett plus whoever is available at 6th even if some how Matthews fell to 3rd.

I guess it was a half-joke along the lines of what Columbus would probably ask. But I wouldn't mind Bennett for third OA if that worked.

Bennett straight up for 3rd overall might be fair value, but Bennett plus the 6th overall for 3rd overall is a massive over payment.
Also, while Bennett straight up for 3rd overall might be fair value, I wouldn't make that trade. Center depth is too important.

If I knew for sure that Jankowski would be a good enough 2C to win a cup with, I would have absolutely no problems moving Bennett straight across for Puljujarvi. Jesse is the real deal. He's a big Gaudreau, hell yeah I would like another one of those. Or if flames management would know that Dubois would fall to 6, I'd also pull the trigger.
Sadly, we still don't know if Janko is a good enough C to play in the NHL though

I would absolutely not do that deal, skill center is much too important than skill winger. We know what Bennett can offer, we don't know or I don't know what Puljujarvi can offer or if he is the real deal. Yes, he was great in World Jr, can he translate that into NHL, I don't know. May be I haven't watch enough of his youtube videos.

I prefer Bennett's playing style to a lot of players in the league. He has a rare combination of grit/edge and high level skill/speed that not a ton of players have. No way do I trade him for Puljujarvi

Looks like Fleury does not have to be protected after all as only full NMC have to be and his is modified.

Okay that removes some pressure and it will give them more time to see if the backup can keep up his play but he'll still be lost for zip if he isn't protected.

He has a modified NTC
A NMC is just a NMC no?
He has both according to CapFreindly. A NMC and a Limited NTC.

The Fourth Period for Fleury:
Marc-Andre Fleury (limited, can submit a list of 12 teams he will not accept trade to)
