Remember when Pete and Roger played a couple of exhibition matches in 2008? Seems pretty crazy but Pete was competitive in them at the old age of 37. I wonder if Pete watches the Big 3 dominant in there mid-late thirties and regrets calling it quits so early.

I don't have proof but in my head those exos were where Roger caught mono, which not only messed up most of his 2008 season, but officially ended his peak.

Pete is on record saying that he wishes he switched to modern racquet technology, which could have extended his career and competitive level by several years.

Not a great display of serving to be honest

Rafa and Novak are currently on the entry list for the National Bank Open in Montreal in August...Obviously this is still about 4 weeks away, but this is a very strong field as I type.

So excited! Glad that I got tickets to what could be Rafa's last time playing in Canada. I just hope he's not playing Shapo or Felix and I have to go against the crowd

I love that his "down year" of 2008 included a US Open title, 2 Final appearances (both losses to peak Nadal) and a SF appearance. Hell if Shapo does that in his entire career id be happy

This story is flying under the radar somewhat (came out late last week), but there is an ongoing investigation concerning Karatsev, Basilashvili, and their former coach Yahor Yatsyk regarding match fixing. Sounds pretty damning if true and the details can be found in the twitter thread below:

Felix is coming up shortly in Newport, Rhode Island as he takes on Jason Kubler.

Edit: Felix breaks late in set 1 and then consolidates to take the opening set 6-4

Currently on serve in set 3 after Kubler won set 2 6-3. Felix had multiple chances to break in set 2, but couldn't cash in, got angry, and Kubler was the one who got the break of serve.

Match suspended at 5-6 in the 3rd set due to poor light (Kubler to serve) - Also should add that Kubler was complaining about the slippery grass conditions in the final game where Felix was serving in the hopes of throwing the Canadian off (he did get a break point, but Felix survived to hold).

Thiem is taking on RBA in Sweden on the clay and takes the first set in a tie-break.

Serena is playing the National Bank Open in Toronto, maybe gearing up for one last dance at the US Open?

RBA takes set 2 6-3 as Thiem's level certainly dropped in that set. I think it's now more a case of getting his match fitness back, based on some of the rips he's taking at the ball he appears to have full confidence in his wrist.

Thiem takes out RBA 7-6 3-6 6-4 playing a fine 3rd set. Great to see.
