I don't think it's been a rollercoaster for most objective Eagles fans. The warts on this team were glaringly obvious even when they were winning games. The chickens have just finally come home to roost.

Exactly this.

I'll still watch them but I am not expecting anything in the playoffs.

They are 10-4 and a lock to make the playoffs in a league where all the contenders have their own warts. As a fan of a team that's not even in the playoffs I find it kind of humorous how fans of good teams will just write them off because of meaningless regular season losses in a league that is truly week to week. For teams like the Eagles and Cowboys it's what they do in the playoffs that counts and how the season will be measured. If you can't enjoy cheering for a 10-4 football then you are a pretty spoiled fan because cheering for draft position isn't nearly as fun as I can attest. I wouldn't put my money on the Eagles getting to the Super Bowl but I wouldn't be shocked if they managed to get there as they have a better chance than the Cowboys as they don't have playoff demons to overcome.

The Eagles have a lower point differential than the Vikings and Saints. Now there are always qualifiers in that, but the Eagles have been a shadow of what they were last year. Last year they were dominating teams week in and out, this year they've done well to grind out results, but they are clearly a much worse team overall.

A poorly constructed back 7 on D and two bad coordinator hires leads Philly to where they are now. Hurts is no longer in a system that plays to his strengths and looks like he did before he was in that system. Steichen was clearly the brains behind the offensive operation. Gannon bailed late for the Arizona job and the eagles went hard after Fangio but missed out. Their choices afterwards were below average at best.

Can’t win em all, try to fix the coordinator positions next year, maybe actually have starting calibre LB and S and if you can sucker anyone into trading for slay or bradberry you do that.

Watching so many Chiefs games this year, I forget that wide receivers can actually make plays a catch those 50-50 balls.

One thing about backups is that on occasion they play with no fear and will throw up these 50-50 balls. When the receivers catch them they look like heroes. When defences have tape and tendencies they adjust coverage and send them back to the sidelines. But you get these spurts that can be entertaining.

They're basically the anti-Bills.

Yep, as a Bills fan that endured 17 years of mediocrity, I'm just happy to have a competitive team that's in the mix. Just one championship would be nice, though. I'd buy a hat AND hoodie for that.

I think they're okay at S with Brown and Blankenship. Brown is raw, but he's athletic and has a high motor.

LB is a dumpster fire. Sucks that Dean hasn't panned out because that basically puts them back at square one.

They also need more depth at DE. Sweat and Reddick look gassed and Graham is likely retiring after this season.

The other big issue this year was losing Avonte Maddox so early and having a rotating cast of bums playing nickel.

Who said I wasn't cheering for them? Pointing out their flaws and tempering my expectations accordingly isn't the same as cheering against them.

Unless you thought I was being serious when I said I hope they don't even make the playoffs. I thought that was pretty obvious hyperbole.

It's being realistic. The Eagles haven't been as good as last season as others have pointed out. Anything can happen but I just don't see playoffs being successful.

After seeing your team win you get a better idea of what a championship team can look like, and your expectations do get a bit out of sorts.

I don't think the Chiefs will do much this year because in week 15 they're still making a lot of September like mistakes. But it's been the run that I envied Patriot fans for the past 6 seasons so I'm very thankful. I also think in a couple years they'll have this roster rebuilt to make another serious go too.

If this year's team can correct the mistakes on offence I think they could give the 49'ers a competitive game.

To me right now I think that only SF, Baltimore, K.C. or Buffalo are the only teams I can see winning the Superbowl. Many odds makers have the 49'ers at 3:2.

But the Chiefs, for once, have a very good defense. If their receivers didn't #### so many beds they might be 12-2 right now. I do think those receivers will end up costing them, but unlike those early Mahomes years they don't need 27+ to win, they can win 20-17 games now. Beating the 49ers might be a bridge too far, but I don't think a Super Bowl appearance is impossible for the Chiefs. Backdoor to the #1 seed is still open, Dolphins lose this week and beat the Ravens next week (I'm assuming the Ravens will lose to the 49ers) and the Chiefs could get there.

There's probably also a tendency of not wanting to sound like a cocky fan of a good team, so perhaps intentionally being more critical of their elite teams on here. Which makes sense, but may be a bit of an eye-roller for fans of long-suffering teams when they read it. I'm transitioning back to fan of average to crappy team again after 15 years of glory, I'm sure I've done that stuff too in the past.

EDIT: Also, it may not seem like it to fans of long-time "have-not" teams, but you can cheer for an elite team and still have them irritate you, as well as having warts & shortcomings. First world NFL problems I suppose...

In a forum full of Flames fans (and Blue Jays fans) that's probably a foreign concept to most haha.

Just imagine being a fan of those teams and the Raiders. You can argue my fandom has been a case of self inflicted misery and torture.

I guess making that money has inspired Tyreek Hill to create an entire wide receiver set this year. Three kids with 3 baby mama's allegedly, plus 3 he already had. Antonio Cromartie has a new challenger.

I want the NFL in 2037 to have at least a Cromartie, Rivers, or Hill on every team.

Herbstreit is terrible. Praising Stafford for some throws that were underthrown and should've been intercepted or easy throws that he missed, and, one got Cupp hurt on.

The difference in D lines is hilarious. Aaron Donald going against a pathetic OL like this should be illegal. It's the biggest weak spot on the team.

EDIT: Shiiiiiiiiid
